Investment Services Private Market Department (“ISPVM”)
The Investment Services Private Markets Department is responsible for investment services for the private market across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing deal structuring and closing, portfolio monitoring, valuation, portfolio finance, investment operations, tax, data management services, in the execution of private market investments in Real Estate, Private Equity, Private Credits and Infrastructure.
Multi-Strategies Transaction Management
The Multi-Strategies Transaction Management team plays a vital role to provide investment deal closing support to cross private markets investment strategies through a scalable transaction execution platform.
The role of a Transaction Manager is to work in-step with the investment and functional teams to ensure smooth and timely closings of private investments. This entails clear and tactful communication with various stakeholders and elite organisational skills with superb attention to details to drive our execution capabilities. The role also involves providing deal finance advisory including buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence, structure operating model, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC private market investments.
What Impact can you make in this role?
You will be part of the team in providing transaction management and deal finance specialists services across Infrastructure, Integrated Strategies Group’s private equities, and cross-strategy investments in Europe.
Responsibilities:
Transaction Management and Deal Execution

Lead as deal execution point of contact with external and internal counterparties, and administer deal execution relating to internal compliance, KYC, structures and board resolutions, regulatory approvals, documentations’ signatories, and internal authorizations

Ensure accurate and timely exchange of documentations and funding for new investments, and resolution of any internal queries

Partner with investment, operations, tax, and legal teams to execute efficient and timely deal closings

Administer and navigate concurrent deal closings and deal volume across multiple asset classes while working with various stakeholders

Be the go-to resource for Investment team’s investment process, administrative procedures and compliance policies queries, including advisory on approval processes and deal closing requirements and timelines

Work closely with the Private Equity and Real Estate Transaction Management team to conceptualize and drive the successful execution of the transaction management platform across the regions

Identify gaps in current workflow and take a proactive approach (technology enabled solution where makes sense) to drive operational front-mid-back process improvements and efficiencies, and reduce operational risks
Deal Finance Services

Provide deal finance advisory and implement deal initiatives including buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence, restructuring and other transaction finance services in the assigned private asset classes – real estate, private equity/ debts, and infrastructure investments in Europe

Advise operational feasibility of holding structure, deal funding mechanics, portfolio accounting / valuations implications and manage various work streams with internal stakeholders and external advisors during investments / divestments

Implement efficient operating model including onboarding/ offboarding investment portfolio across various jurisdictions in Europe

Preserve deal value at post-closing stage and implement efficient post-deal integration
Requirements:

Degree in accounting & finance, business, or other related fields, or equivalent practical experience, with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a similar role

Ideally a qualified accountant, with Big 4 (or equivalent) training

Knowledge of private sector investing and deal execution experience in the private equity and/or infrastructure industries preferred

Good understanding and awareness of private investments’ deal documentations and nuances of private market transactions are advantageous

Detailed-oriented analytical thinker, with creative problem-solving capabilities to effectively manage complex situations in a timely manner

Excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deals at any given time.

Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
