Investment Services Public Markets, or ISPM, is an integrated team that leverages data and emerging technology to provide investment services for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategies, as well as GIC’s global execution, trade and collateral operations, asset servicing, investment monitoring, market data management, network management and custody control. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.
We are currently looking for an Associate/Assistant Vice President to enhance our Regulatory Reporting & Investment Compliance (RRIC) capabilities in our London office. The RRIC team specializes in researching, managing, and implementing responses to all regulatory provisions that affect the firm’s investments with both internal and external stakeholders and partners. The team also monitors listed investments across public and private markets to ensure compliance across various restrictions and limits arising from regulations, client guidelines or internal risk frameworks.
Responsibilities

Be part of a team that is responsible for GIC’s EMEA post-trade obligations, keeping abreast of EMEA regulatory reporting requirements and developments including timely response to the obligations.

Support pre-trade activities during the EMEA time zone, coordinating well with the RRIC teams in Singapore and New York to ensure seamless coverage for the investment teams.

Manage the relationships of internal stakeholders based in London, in being able to understand, anticipate and respond to their business needs well.

Leverage on internal and external advisors in EMEA to assess global regulations with good understanding and application to GIC’s investments.

Research, manage and implement controls to monitor regulatory reporting requirements ensuring that the regulatory obligations and provisions that affect the EMEA region are addressed. This includes communicating implications to internal investment stakeholders and developing potential regulatory responses in partnership with Compliance Advisory teams.

Lead engagement with business and provide compliance guidance and expertise e.g., review of proposed transactions, new products, considering internal and regulatory requirements across asset classes.

Develop policies and procedures, including coding and reviewing of pre- and post-trade rules and controls in compliance/execution platforms, to ensure appropriateness and adequacy against industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Lead change management activities to ensure compliance with all new regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks, including the implementation of regulatory and internal trade controls.

Proactively share knowledge with team members on regulatory developments and industry best practices.

Develop positive teamwork with the wider RRIC team, and drive engagement with stakeholders.

Establish good local network of peers for strategic partnership.

Drive and support department / team initiatives (where applicable).
Requirements

At least 6-8 years of experience within regulatory compliance and/or investment monitoring (preference for both).

Well versed in all financial products across all asset classes.

Good understanding of regulatory reporting and investment monitoring requirements.

Possesses strategic thinking and leadership skills.

Possesses strong communication skills and confidence to effectively engage multiple stakeholders. This includes strong interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate well within the immediate team, as well as stakeholders.

Possesses strong analytical skills, good working knowledge and confidence with data handling.

Possesses intellectual curiosity and resourcefulness, with a strong drive for excellence.

Experience with establishing and meeting critical deadlines, as well as tracking and driving execution.

Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure to meet multiple demands and ongoing priorities.

Flexibility to start work early or later EMEA hours on a shift arrangement as needed for coverage.
