Fixed Income & Multi Asset Department
Our team employs a broad range of investment strategies that span macro, credit, and quantitative investing, including multi-asset, benchmark-agnostic, constrained, indexed, and thematic strategies.
The Alternative Credit Group (ACG) is an integrated structured finance team investing across the capital structure - from investment grade through high yield - both directly and alongside managers through co-investment opportunities. This role focuses on corporate credit investing, with a specialization in financial institutions.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP level Credit Analyst to join the Alternative Credit Group in London. The ideal candidate will view credit through a corporate and balance-sheet lens, with depth in financials; who want to operate across both standalone and structured investments; who engage deeply with legal documentation; and who thrive in an integrated, judgment-driven environment rather than a volume-driven or siloed one.
Dual Mandate
- Standalone Corporate Investments — Lead and contribute to corporate credit investments, with primary expertise in financials and the versatility to work across sectors as opportunities arise. The team has supporting capability in other corporate sectors.
- Structured Deal Teams — Serve as the corporate credit lens within structured transactions, evaluating originators, servicers, and sponsors for credit quality, operational resilience, and balance sheet strength, while the structured team focuses on collateral. Experience in specialty finance is particularly valuable.
Responsibilities:
- Lead corporate credit analysis across the capital structure, specializing in financial institutions.
- Evaluate business models, funding structures, leverage, capital adequacy, and downside protections.
- Build and review financial models to assess cash flows, capital structure resilience, and stress scenarios.
- Provide ecosystem assessments on structured deals — originators, servicers, sponsors.
- Lead due diligence, including review of transaction documentation, covenants, and structural protections.
- Shape transaction terms and risk mitigants alongside deal leads.
- Monitor portfolio positions, identify emerging risks, and contribute to investment committee materials.
Requirements:
- VP-level experience in corporate credit investing or leveraged finance, with strong grounding in financial institutions.
- Proven ability to assess creditworthiness and operational soundness of financial businesses — originators, servicers, specialty lenders — within a structured finance context.
- Legal background or documentation expertise is a significant advantage.
- Structured credit investing experience is a plus.
- Strong downside focus, sound credit judgment, and instinct for structural protections.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with shared ownership across standalone and structured investments.
- Clear communicator, self-directed, and capable of leading workstreams through execution.
