Investment Services Private Market and Finance

The Investment Services Private Market and Finance (ISPVMF) Department leverages data and emerging technology to provide investment services and financial management on Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Cross-Strategy investments, strategically and tactically. The department oversees the development and implementation of business infrastructural plans and operating models needed to scale GIC’s investments in the alternative asset classes globally. This covers deal structuring, due diligence and closing, financial operations across GIC’s Private Equity, Infrastructure, and Real Estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting. The department also oversees the GIC Group’s revenues and expenditures.


The role of an AVP, Transaction Management in the Real Assets Portfolio Operations team is to work in-step with the investment and support teams to project manage the smooth and timely closings of investments within the GIC Real Estate business. This involves clear and concise communication with various stakeholders.



  • Work closely with internal investment, finance, tax, and legal teams to execute efficient and timely deal closings

  • Be the main point of contact for internal and external counterparties such as legal counsels, custodians, and KYC/AML agents to receive and process transaction documents and ensure funding on a timely basis

  • Project manage simultaneous deal closings with different stakeholders, as the deal flow is large and includes numerous asset classes

  • Assist the investment team to perform selected deal related internal compliance tasks

  • Be the go-to resource for all process and policy queries, including advising investment teams on approval processes and deal closing requirements and timings

  • Propose and execute process efficiency gains, through industrialisation and digitalisation of repetitive and time-consuming tasks and focus on high value add processes



  • 5+ years relevant work experience

  • Strong real estate knowledge, including direct, indirect and debt transactions

  • Experience in investment execution 

  • Ability to forge strong partnerships with investment team and other stakeholders

  • Inquisitive self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • An analytical mind and meticulous in detail

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong time-management and creative problem-solving capabilities is vital in terms of effectively dealing with the complex nature of the deals and tight deadlines


 Advantageous to have: 

  • University degree in relevant field (business, accounting, property, or similar)

  • Excellent computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Comfortable managing a significant volume of data

  • A good understanding of the commercial, governance and legal terms of real estate deal documents

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $121,000 and $162,000.


Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
