Investment Services Private Markets Department

 

The Investment Services Private Markets Department is responsible for investment services for the private market across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing deal structuring and closing, portfolio monitoring, valuation, finance, operations, tax, data management and analytics services, in the execution of private market investments in Real Estate, Private Equity, Private Credits and Infrastructure.  It is involved in financial reporting and accounting of investment holding companies, as well as operations and financial due diligence for asset operations. We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Finance & Accounting (“F&A”) team, in an Investment Support role. The role will support the Americas Private Markets as an Assistant Vice President or Vice President.

 

This role acts as a financial controller to partner with Investment Teams and internal stakeholders in managing accounting, reporting and operation activities throughout the investment lifecycle.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Support Investment Teams and various stakeholders to evaluate the valuation and operation considerations and coordinate financial due diligence during acquisition / divestment process.

  • Provide financial and operational inputs on holding structures, funding mechanics, assess other accounting / valuations implications and operationalize the implementation

  • Manage various work streams with internal stakeholders and external advisors during investment / divestment process.

  • Prepares and reviews market valuation for private investments within corporate policy.

  • Partner with operation team to fulfill all operational requirements, including liaising with banks on funding requirements

  • Works closely with Team Lead to design and implement various finance improvement initiatives and analytics as part of Finance Transformation

  • Assist in coaching junior team members

  • Reviews financial controls for asset operations and liaising with external auditors

  • Provide oversight on the organizing and maintenance of investment holding platform, including corporate secretarial and financial reporting

 

Requirements:

 

  • Certified Public Accountant preferred, ideally big 4 trained

  • At least 6 years relevant working experience (ideally within Real Estate in supporting direct transactions)

  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills, who is keen to learn and pick up new challenges in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

  • Driven self-starter, with strong initiative, who is hands-on and comfortable to manage multiple tasks, is confident to engage different stake holders, and can work independently to deliver outcomes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have a practical working experience with accounting software systems.

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $100,000 to $168,000.

 

Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
