External Managers Department

The External Managers Department seeks to identify and develop relationships with the best breed of global investment managers to benefit GIC at large, and at the same time capturing investment opportunities to outperform our benchmarks.

 

We are looking for a skilled and motivated candidate to join our team as a Co-Investment Deal Sourcer. The candidate will be part of an investment team which invests in funds run by external managers. Primary responsibilities will be sourcing and screening co-investment opportunities from external fund managers with a primary focus on credit related strategies.

 

The role will be based in New York, NY.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

You will help to grow GIC’s overall investments into credit and other co-investment opportunities from its external fund manager partners.  

 

What will you do as a Co-Investment Deal Sourcer?

  • Actively source credit co-investments from external fund manager partners that align with GIC’s investment strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with fund managers to create robust pipeline of co-investment deal flow  
  • Perform initial screening of co-investment opportunities and provide constructive feedback to fund managers
  • Oversee and manage co-investment processes between external fund managers and GIC underwriting teams
  • Prepare detailed reports and summary presentations on deal sourcing strategies and results
  • Engage in fund underwriting and portfolio management as secondary responsibilities

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • At least 4 to 6 years of credit experience, preferably as a fund allocator
  • Prior direct credit investing or co-investment underwriting experience preferred but not required
  • Strong network and understanding of the credit fund landscape with the ability to leverage relationships for sourcing opportunities
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly
  • A proactive thinker who can articulate his/her views well, both in verbally and in writing
  • Comfortable working independently while also being a collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment

Compensation
Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.
 
Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $170,000 and $230,000.  Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
