Public Equities (EQ)
We generate sustainable, superior returns through active investments across global equity markets. Strategies include relative return strategies, absolute return strategies, and quantitative strategies. 


Global Active Equities (GAEQ) is the primary team covering Developed Markets Equities. GAEQ manages a concentrated portfolio and we are grouped along sector clusters that help us develop deep industry expertise and identify long-term investment themes. Members work seamlessly across New York, London and Singapore to identify potential investments with a focus on bottom-up fundamentals, business quality and long-term value creation. We engage with managements of companies, investment partners and other counterparts to supplement our in-depth research and position GIC as a desired shareholder and capital partner.  

 

 

What impact can you make in this role? 
You will be part of a global developed markets equities team focused on creating long-term value through active investing. You will be covering the software sector and identifying the best opportunities for GAEQ to invest in. 

 

 

What will you do as a Portfolio Manager? 

  • Form a differentiated long-term view on potential investments - due diligence to include company meetings, industry conferences, primary research, sell side resources and engaging with subject matter experts. 

  • Build detailed financial models that incorporate the key value drivers and assumptions of a business, to arrive at an intrinsic value range.  

  • Present and discuss investment analysis with the team, taking inputs to arrive at a more robust investment case.  

  • Work with senior members in the team on potential deals such as pre-IPOs/private funding rounds and IPOs.  

  • Monitor the key portfolio companies by following the quarterly earnings updates, leading management calls and meetings. 

  • Contribute to the wider team discussions and debates on other stock ideas as well as to the idea generation process.  

  • Play an active role in building a cohesive and collaborative team culture within GAEQ and across GIC . 

 

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally covering the software and/or technology sector as an investment analyst 

  • Have a long-term strategic outlook on technology trends 

  • Proficiency in financial modeling 

  • Possess strong research and communication skills 

  • Project and time management skills to drive investment projects to conclusion while balancing various other commitments 

  • Bachelor’s degree with top academic qualifications  

  • Self-starter, able to work independently and with little supervision 

  • Team player and a strong collaborator 

  • Able to mentor junior analysts as needed 

  • Able to proactively engage with key internal stakeholders and external partners.

Compensation
Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results. Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $180,000 and $300,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
