Investment Services Public Markets

Investment Services Public Markets, or ISPM, is an integrated investment services team that uses data and emerging technologies to provide services for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC’s global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.



We are looking for an Investment Service Analyst to support the Public Markets strategy groups.  The successful candidate will support active strategies that invest globally across multiple asset classes.  Accordingly, they are required to interact with people at all levels across the firm.  He/She will also work closely with teams in Singapore, London and New York, as well as counterparties and service providers across the globe.



  • Provide business strategy execution support including setting up new strategies and portfolios, benchmark changes, funding and portfolio restructuring / rebalancing
  • Provide support on IPOs and placements including gatekeeping on pre-trade checks and allocations for IPOs
  • Provide order/trade management support for portfolio managers including amongst others order preparation, supporting governance, regulatory and compliance requirements, transaction and order reporting and monitoring, proactive management to ensure smooth trade execution and processing
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Analysts, handling ad hoc requests to support department and division reviews
  • Produce reports and analysis in support of portfolio management needs including the building of exposure, risk and performance reports/dashboards among others; work closely with the business solutions analytics (BSA) team within ISPM on data and analytics requirements
  • Work with other ISPM teams and relevant departments (including trading, risk, audit, legal and compliance) to drive process and system improvements and deployments, manage system access and budget administration as well as ensure business continuity plans are in place.



The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Degree in either business, finance, engineering, technology or related field with ideally at least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in financial services or related (not a must) with a strong focus on either (trade) execution, operations, finance and/or data and analytics
  • Broad understanding of different Public Markets asset classes and products
  • Good appreciation of portfolio needs, ranging from order preparation, strategy execution to portfolio controls
  • Good working knowledge with MS Office, in particular MS Excel (eg. proficiency with pivot tables) is a must. Good working knowledge with data visualization requirements and tools such as Tableau would be highly preferred
  • Comfortable working with data and have a good sense of numbers. Experience with SQL, VBA, Python or basic programming skills would be preferred
  • Ability to drive process and reporting improvement
  • High level of initiative, meticulous and well-organized. Self-starter who is hands-on and comfortable to manage multiple tasks, confident to manage different stakeholders and prioritization of needs. Can work independently to deliver outcomes, as well as work closely with broader team in other time zones to enable a successful follow-the-sun model.
