The Private Credit Group is the credit arm of GIC Private Equity, and is an integrated team based in London and New York. The mandate is to invest globally in private credit funds across the capital structure and directly underwrite senior and junior LBO loans.


Job Summary


The candidate will be a key member of the global Private Credit Group, with a focus on investing in North American private credit funds and co-investments alongside those same fund managers. The candidate will also spend a minority of their time on European private credit funds and co-investments. As this is a growing strategy for GIC within a very small team, the candidate will get significant exposure and responsibility, and have a unique opportunity to help develop investment strategy and construct the portfolio. The role will require strong quantitative and interpersonal skills, as the candidate will perform due diligence on credit funds and company co-investment opportunities. The role will be based in New York. There will be opportunities for business travel to other parts of the US, London and Singapore.

Prior Work Experience:  

[1-3] years’ work experience in either: leveraged finance, M&A or restructuring at a top-tier investment bank (Analyst level); direct lending at a private credit firm; or fund selection at a private equity/credit fund of funds



  • Experience in conducting due diligence and business analysis to support investment recommendations
  • Strong business acumen and commercial judgment
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Responsible, proactive and ability to work independently



  • Part of the global Private Credit Group, based in New York
  • Participate in all aspects of the underwriting process for credit fund investments. Due diligence will involve evaluating the fund manager's strategy, track record, portfolio companies, investment and execution capabilities, as well as culture and alignment. It will involve meeting and appraising senior management at top investment firms
  • Participate in all aspects of the underwriting process for credit co-investments. Due diligence will involve evaluating key risk/return drivers, market dynamics, historical and projected financial performance, management teams, capital structures and deal terms
  • Make and defend investment recommendations in both oral and written communication with investment committee members
  • Portfolio monitoring (funds and company co-investments)
  • Project work on strategy and portfolio construction, including internal portfolio updates
