Investment Services Public Markets
Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) is an integrated team that provides investment service support for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for GIC’s global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.
We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our Trade Management & Asset Servicing team as an Associate, with a primary focus on managing the lifecycle of corporate actions with additional responsibilities in trade operations. The candidate will collaborate closely with the trading desk, overseeing trade execution and providing front-end support throughout the mid and back-end settlement processes and lifecycle events. The successful candidate will take on responsibilities for various functions and products outlined below. Comprehensive development and cross-training will be provided to ensure effective support for the trading desk.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee corporate actions and Proxy voting, from announcement to execution, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Collaborate with custodians and financial institutions to gather information and conduct basic research and analysis.
- Support the business in the trading activities of Fixed Income, Currency and Equities asset classes.
- Perform trade processing of various instruments, including:
- Cash Securities: Equities, Bonds, Collateral swaps, Term Loans
- Exchange-traded Futures & Options: commodities, financial contracts
- OTC Derivatives: Interest Rate Swaps, Credit Default Swap, Swaptions, Cross Currency Swaps, Volatility and Variance swaps
- Foreign Exchange & Money Market instruments: FX, Deposit, Repos
- Margin and Collateral: margin calls, collateral substitutions
- Cash Management: cash projections and funding needs.
- Ensure prompt follow up on trade matching, trade confirmation, and other operational matters.
- Ensure timely settlement for all trades across the global markets. This includes ensuring sufficient funding and meeting both the internal and custodian banks’ cut-off times.
- Support asset servicing functions of all investments throughout the life cycle of the trade including exercise/ assignment, novation, income collection, corporate action and credit event processing.
- Assessment for implementation of new products and markets for investment by portfolio managers.
- Work with external counterparties, brokers and service providers to resolve operational issues, and be able to assess their service levels. Ensure service level is met for all services.
- Work with external vendors (brokers, counterparties, clearers, custodian banks, industry groups) to keep track of market developments.
- Leverage technological knowledge to design solutions to integrate into processes. Drive process improvements for productivity and quality enhancements.
- Provide data management support
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in finance, business, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in operations. Experience in corporate actions or asset servicing is preferred.
- Knowledge of leveraging AI toolkits is advantageous.
- Inquisitive and curious, detail-oriented, strong analytical ability, excellent communication skills and possess a drive for excellence.
- Constantly keep up to date with industry developments, resourceful. Able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
- A good team player - collaborates well with internal and external counterparts, self-motivated and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
- Some experience interacting with investment professionals and traders is an added advantage, but not a pre-requisite.

Compensation
Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.
Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $99,800 and $133,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
