Investment Services Private Market

The Investment Services Private Market (ISPVM) Department provides strategic investment services and financial management for the Private Markets within the GIC group. Leveraging data and emerging technologies, the department oversees the development and implementation of business infrastructural plans and operating models to scale GIC’s alternative asset investments globally. This covers deal structuring, due diligence and closing, financial operations across GIC’s assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

 

What Impact can you make in this role?

You will play a vital role to provide investment and deal closing support to cross private markets equity/debt, credit, real assets and cross-strategy investments through a scalable transaction execution platform. This role works closely with the investment Deal Team and various internal and external functional teams to ensure smooth and prompt closings of private markets investments including finance advisory and regulatory operations. It entails clear communication with various stakeholders, tactical deal advisory, and elite organizational skills with superb attention to details to drive our execution capabilities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead as deal execution point of contact with external and internal counterparties, partner Deal Team in administering deal execution relating to deal process, finance, and internal compliance considerations.
  • Provide deal advisory including financial due diligence and other transaction finance services in the assigned private asset classes.
  • Manage operational and financial feasibility of investment structure and various work streams with internal stakeholders and external advisors during investments / divestments.
  • Implement efficient operating model including on boarding/ off boarding investment portfolio.
  • Collaborative and effective partnering with stakeholders such as internal Investment Team, internal Finance and Investment Operation members, Tax, Legal & Compliance, external advisors, and service providers.
  • Ensure end-to-end smooth closing of deals. Run and/or partner with operations team to fulfil all operational requirements, include liaising with banks on funding.
  • Support and implement various transformation programs and global projects to drive scale in deal management.
  • Identify gaps in current workflow and take a proactive approach (technology enabled solution where makes sense) to drive operational front-mid-back process improvements and efficiencies and reduce operational risks.

 

Requirements

  • At least 4 years relevant deal advisory and transaction management experience. Ideally in Private Equity or Infrastructure supporting direct transactions.
  • Good understanding and awareness of private investments’ deal closing mechanics, investment structuring, documentations and controls.
  • Degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent. Ideally a qualified accountant with Big 4 training.
  • Detailed oriented analytical thinker, with creative problem-solving capabilities to effectively manage complex situations in a timely manner.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deals at any given time and deliver to deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and drive partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • An inquisitive self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, cross-regions multicultural environment.

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.

 

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $120,000 and $170,000.  Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
