Infrastructure

We deploy long-term capital through direct, and fund investments across the capital structure to diversify our portfolio. You will help to preserve and enhance the value of our direct equity investments, sitting on company boards and/or working with management teams.

 

What impact can you make in this role

You will be part of a team that (i) generates value by investing into and owning infrastructure companies with stable and predictable cash flows, long-term inflation protection and reasonable risk-adjusted returns, and (ii) builds a stronger Asset Management function with GIC INFRA.

 

What you will do as a Vice President

  • Work with the existing Asset Management team to oversee the performance of the Americas (including North America and South America) portfolio and be accountable for delivering and outperforming budgets and targets on a sustainable basis.  The candidate should ensure material risks are identified and mitigated, that the asset management activities are appropriately resourced and that the wider Infrastructure and GIC senior teams are briefed on performance, forecasts and potential issues
  • Engaging with Portfolio Company leadership, through board participation or value-add project design/execution, he/she must be able to build effective relationships with executive teams, wider management groups, fellow shareholders and directors, and where appropriate other stakeholders and thus influence both inside and outside of the boardroom. He or she must be able to win management over through credibility, knowledge and relationship skills
  • Help support, challenge, shape and ultimately deliver sustainable asset performance. He/she will lead the creation of value within relevant portfolio companies through advice on strategy, resourcing, operations, financial management, corporate governance, etc.
  • Continue to develop the Asset Management practice with other senior Asset Managers globally, lead internal projects, be a people manager for more junior team members
  • Represent GIC Infrastructure internally and externally when it comes to managing external advisors (e.g. consultants), industry groups, representatives of government and regulatory agencies, environmental groups, competitors, professional societies
  • Be a thought partner to deal team leads in diligence and underwriting new investments, focusing on the quality of executive management, risks, business plans, governance and other portfolio management priorities

 

 What makes you a successful candidate?

  • 10 to 15 years’ operational experience in industrial/infrastructure context
  • 5+ years’ management consulting experience, preferably in transformation and/or industrial/infrastructure sectors
  • Personal track record of driving operational business improvement, delivering commercial, organizational growth goals and ultimately deliver the business plan committed at acquisition.
  • High achiever with the ability to engage at the operational level to deliver outcomes along with the strategic mindset to view the bigger picture
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal – to represent GIC and also design and produce Asset Management playbooks as we develop our Knowledge Base
  • "Flexible" ego with demonstrated ability to influence and the ability step up to leadership roles
  • Board potential (actual experience not needed but experience of presenting to a Board, demonstrating an understanding of the dynamics would be good)
  • Latin languages, particularly Spanish, would be a plus.

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results. Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $216,600 and $309,400. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
