We are looking to hire a Team Leader (VP) of a newly formed team based in GIC’s New York office. He/she plays the role of a software developer and a system analyst. He/she will work closely with Singapore-based peers at Trading Technology and Trading Analytics teams, as well as with Portfolio Execution Group department’s trading desks in London and New York. His/her team will develop and manage GIC’s in-house built automated multi-asset order execution, and trading analytics platforms.
This team will be the catalyst in GIC’s strategy for continuous innovation in trading solutions and in real-time analytical tools, that enables GIC traders to effectively execute orders in all global markets, across multiple asset classes.
He/she will report to the Head of Trading, Securities Financing & Treasury Solutions based in Singapore. And he/she will have a secondary reporting line to the Head of Trading (Americas) in New York.
Responsibilities

Engage and maintain strong relationships with users (Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Researchers) at GIC’s Portfolio Execution Group Department to understand business needs and priorities and incorporate industry and enterprise requirements; risk; as well as internal/external design factors.

Work alongside with Trading Technology and Trading Analytics teams in Singapore to

develop strategic features in order execution and analytics platforms; and

render technical support via a follow-the-sun model.

Enable continuous technology delivery using Scrum software development methodology and Kanban for production support. These activities include:

Requirements gathering

Software development and code reviews

System Integration Tests and User Acceptance Tests.

Documentation for the use of new or enhanced systems.

Quality control and Problem Management.

Mentor, coach and provide technical leadership to a team of junior developers
Role involves close collaboration with

Peer teams in Portfolio Management Technology, Trading Technology, Securities Financing Technology and Treasury Technology, located in Singapore, London and New York.

Peer teams within GIC on multidiscipline projects and front-office and back-office initiatives.

Solution Providers, Data Vendors and Financial Institutions for new business requirements and day-to-day BAU correspondences.
Requirements

Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related discipline.

At least 7 years of relevant technology experience in financial services industry.

At least 3 years of experience in leading high performing software development teams.

Financial market knowledge at least one of these domains: Equity, Futures and Options, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives and OTC products.

Hands on experience in conducting business analysis, stakeholder management, solution design, software test planning, vendor management and production support of trading systems.

Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code review, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Technical skills and competency in at least one of these programming/scripting languages and software frameworks: Java, J2EE, .NET Core, C#, React, Angular, NodeJS, and Python.

Technical skills and competency in some of these database technologies: PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL and kdb+.

Experience in FIX messaging a plus
Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.
Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $130,000 and $186,000.
Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
