What impact can you make in this role?
This position reports directly to the SVP of HR and will oversee US payroll and benefits operations with a focus on both tactical and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will be highly analytical with a demonstrated ability to manage outside vendors for maximum effectiveness, collaborate globally across the human resources department to ensure successful delivery of HR services to internal stakeholders, drive for continuous improvement, and thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment. 

 

What will you do as a Payroll & Benefits Manager?

Payroll – US & Brazil

  • In concert with 3rd party payroll vendors, oversee administration of bi-weekly payroll for 300+ employees, timely payroll tax filings, and reconciliation of general ledger accounts. 

  • Experience with payroll processing of deferred compensation programs.

  • Ensure that the ADP Workforce Now payroll system is accurately computing payroll and in compliance with federal and state laws, rules; ensure payroll files are transmitted within the established timelines. 

  • Ensure all payroll reports are prepared after each payroll and maintained according to Federal and State law.

  • Ensure the payment of all payroll liabilities are processed within established timeframes.

  • Ensure journal entries are prepared and submitted to Finance department within established timeframes.

  • Coordinate electronic W2 consent each calendar year for electronic W2 processing; ensure the timely completion of all payroll tax reporting requirements (quarterly/annual returns) and the issuance of W-2s and W-2Cs. 

  • Respond to all payroll audit requests (internal and external auditors) and work closely with in-house Finance Department. 

  • Keep current on payroll laws and regulations and taxation and adjust processes to ensure compliance as necessary. 

 

Benefits

  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors, consultants and third-party administrators. 

  • Establish and/or strengthen relationships with key HR vendors to maximize value for the services they provide and ensure carrier interface is operating smoothly with benefits portal and payroll.

  • In concert with SVP-HR, analyze the current benefit offerings, evaluating the usage, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience, and competitive trends in benefits programs. 

  • Design and distribute materials and communication tools for benefit orientations, open enrollment, benefits package and summary plan descriptions. 

  • Facilitate full cycle open enrollment process including plan renewals, design and delivery of communication materials and strategy. 

  • Manage leave of absence plans (STD, LTD and FMLA), accommodations process and worker’s compensation 

  • Manage Form 5500 filings and all related benefit plan audits. 

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • 7-10 years’ experience including payroll and benefits systems, data analysis, data base management, report generation.

  • Strong understanding of HR workflow processes and interface.

  • Excellent analytical, time-management, and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. 

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect across time zones and geographies.

  • Self-directed and capable of fluidly moving from tactical to strategic initiatives.

  • Desire and ability to work in a small-team oriented environment.

  • Open to taking on emerging projects in operations space and drive coordination and outcomes across departments.

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results.

Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $175,000.  Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
