Infrastructure Group

The Infrastructure strategy focuses on selected sectors, investing through private equity, as well as selective credit, PIPE and fund exposures. The Sao Paulo team was established in 2015, and currently has seven professionals. The team is focused on analyzing opportunities in South and Central America, as well as managing the investments made since 2013 in the region. It is integrated into the global team which operates from London, New York, Singapore and Sao Paulo.

Illustrative investments include NTS (gas pipeline in Brazil), Isagen (power generation in Colombia), Aegea (water and sanitation in Brazil) and CART/Eixo SP (toll roads in Brazil). GIC Infrastructure approaches investments with a buy and hold perspective and manages assets with a long-term perspective. We focus on minority investments and have consolidated ourselves as one of the most active investors in the sector and region.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Sao Paulo team as an Analyst. GIC desires to become the leading long term global infrastructure investor and an outstanding career path is available for high performers.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will play a central role in growing GIC Infrastructure’s portfolio and supporting existing investments in the region.

  • Under the supervision of a SVP/VP/AVP, play an integral role in the full deal lifecycle: deal screening, approvals, execution, asset management and, when appropriate, exits.

  • Take on primary role in the financial modeling of transactions, and deal with senior management and with external advisors and banks.

  • Play a key part in deal screening and appraisal, contributing to transaction documentation, and helping prepare the documentation to support investment decisions to investment committee.

  • Investment focus is likely to be biased towards, but not limited to, the power, midstream, transportation and water utility sectors. No experience in infrastructure sectors is required, but the candidate will be required to conduct financial research on public and private companies for potential acquisitions.

  • The team operates in a flat and meritocratic culture, empowering staff with open communications and robust challenges. Being a team player and interacting with counterparties in a way that builds on our reputation is everyone’s responsibility.

  • Up to 2 years of experience working for a private equity fund, institutional investors, global consulting firms, or for investment banks as part of the M&A advisory or Equity research team. Experience in the infrastructure sector is not required.

  • Outstanding financial modelling skills are assumed and will be tested. The ability to build models from scratch is required, as well as model review and scenario development.

  • You will be detail-oriented with a hands-on attitude to deal execution and will thrive in a culture of high-expectations and personal responsibility to own the investment.

  • Strong commercial and intellectual curiosity is a requirement to perform well and advance.
