Investment Services Private Markets
We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, and Private Markets assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.
Finance & Accounting
You will help to provide financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding, valuation management, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments.
What impact can you make in this role?
You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support public markets investment.
We are looking for an Assistant Vice President to focus on outsourcing and investment operations to lead our efforts in developing reporting and analysis capabilities within the private market space covering hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure, integrated strategies and real estate. This role involves managing outsourced administrators and ensuring the seamless integration of strategic partners into our investment operations. This role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support finance operations throughout the investment’s life cycle.
What will you do as an Assistant Vice President in Controllers?
Analysis and Reporting
- Run an oversight program (e.g., through variance analysis, anomaly detection, etc.) to ensure quality of outsourced deliverables
- Drive initiatives on asset level analytics and reporting
- Develop reporting process to provide insights to internal stakeholders on quality of strategic partners including outsourced administrators, fund general partners, etc
Management of Outsourced Administrators:
- Oversee the performance of outsourced administrators, ensuring they meet service level agreements and deliver high-quality services
- Leverage on prior operations experience to ensure accurate and timely operational support for private and alternative assets
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of outsourcing initiatives on operational performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging best practices in outsourcing and fund accounting
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or relevant disciplines
- Relevant professional certification holder (e.g. CA, CMA, CFA) is preferred
- 5+ years of experience in finance, accounting or audit, with a focus on asset or business analysis
- Experience in private fund or private credit asset class
- Strong accounting knowledge and financial analysis skills
- Strong analytical skills, able to resolve business problems with well-structured analyses
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Data driven, experienced in deriving insights from large data sets is preferred
- Proactive, high-energy, motivated team player capable of delivering on multiple initiatives
- Enjoys working in a dynamic environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience in using technology tools for data extraction/modelling/visualization tools (e.g. Power Query, Power BI, Tableau)
