Data Solutions & Services

You will help to design and lead strategic data solutions build-out to support our public markets investment capabilities. You will also conduct research and manage the implementation of data services for all investment strategies and new product lines, through the establishment of strategic partnerships and foster best practices in operating and service models.

 

The Business Data Operations team is responsible for all data operations to support our public markets investment capabilities. We are a team of data domain subject matter experts, providing highly quality and timely data used across the Organisation. The team is also responsible for operationalization of data services for all investment strategies & new product lines, leveraging a range of expertise and through the establishment of strategic partnerships across the firm and in the market, to embed and enforce best practices in data operating models.

You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support public markets investment.
 
 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate, preferably with Artificial Intelligence working knowledge, to join our team and contribute to the development and management of GIC's enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) system. This system will serve as the "single source of truth" for all related data sets of entities and instruments, powering all enterprise data requirements with harmonized attributes. The MDM system will provide a complete view of exposures, enhance decision-making, and drive better insights across the organization. You will collaborate with systems and/or managed service providers to enhance and run our reference data management processes, ensuring seamless data integration and accessibility throughout GIC.

 

What will you do as an AVP, Business Data Operations?

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, leading the development of business user requirements, designing testing strategies for user acceptance testing, and advising business units on data usage and data solutions that add value.
  • Manage and operate data management activities, including investigating and resolving data-related problems, exceptions, and data quality issues.
  • Provide guidance in evaluating business requests for data and assessing operational readiness for new products and/or markets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and initiatives to drive efficiency, effectiveness and enhance business capabilities and performance.
  • Apply forward-thinking and a strategic mindset to build, innovate, and transform GIC’s data management capabilities, aligning with industry best practices.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?  

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or relevant disciplines.
  • 4-8 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the finance, investment or  asset management industry. Business domain knowledge of derivatives contracts, structured products or private markets will be a strong bonus.
  • Self-starter with strong learning agility and adapt quickly.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A meticulous and motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Experience or aptitude in a transformative role such as reinvigorating an operations function and driving change will be advantageous.
  • Forward looking with strong hands-on understanding of key principles, processes and controls relating to data management and reporting.
  • Working knowledge in Python, SQL, or AI tool is a plus.
