What impact can you make in this role?
The Data Stewardship team member will support GIC’s enterprise data governance and management initiatives, focusing on unstructured data assets. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and strong collaboration skills to assist in implementing scalable data stewardship processes that ensure data quality, compliance, and usability across the organization.
What will you do as a AVP, Data Governance(Data Stewardship)?

Data Classification: Support the application and maintenance of classification standards for unstructured data, ensuring consistency and accuracy across business lines.

Data Annotation and Labelling: Perform data annotation and labelling tasks to accurately identify and tag unstructured data samples, improving data quality and supporting AI and machine learning initiatives.

Collaboration & Support: Work closely with data engineers, cybersecurity teams, and AI specialists to support algorithm improvements, address data discrepancies, and ensure accurate data labelling and classification.

Process Optimization: Contribute to the continuous improvement of data annotation and classification processes by identifying inefficiencies and proposing enhancements.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business data owners, stewards, and central data management teams to support ongoing and future data needs, ensuring alignment with enterprise governance objectives.

Enterprise Data Management for Unstructured Data: Support end-to-end data management activities for unstructured data, including data registration, classification, tagging, and quality checks. Assist in maintaining data lifecycle processes and ensure all tasks adhere to GIC’s data governance standards and enterprise data architecture principles.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

5–8 years of experience in data governance, data management, or unstructured data processing, preferably in an enterprise environment.

Proven expertise in data classification, taxonomy development, and labeling, with hands-on experience supporting AI/ML data workflows.

Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data lifecycle management, and data quality assurance.

Experience collaborating with data engineers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to improve data accuracy and support algorithm enhancements.

Demonstrated ability to optimize processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements in data annotation and management workflows.

Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently while contributing to enterprise-wide data governance objectives.
