Investment Services Private Markets 

The Investment Services Private Market (ISPVM) Department provides strategic investment services and financial management for the Private Markets within the GIC group. Leveraging data and emerging technologies, the department oversees the development and implementation of business infrastructural plans and operating models to scale GIC’s alternative asset investments globally. This covers deal structuring, due diligence and closing, financial operations across GIC’s assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting. 

 

Investment Finance & Controllers 

The division is responsible for deal advisory including financial due diligence, investment structuring, portfolio controllership, treasury and cash management, valuation management, investment operations, investment accounting and reporting and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments. 

You will be part of the leading team in providing deal finance specialists services across real assets, private equity/debt, credit and cross-strategy investments. 

 

What will you do in the Deal & Asset Finance team? 

  • Lead as deal execution point of contact with external and internal counterparties, partner Deal Team in administering deal execution relating to deal finance advisory and internal compliance considerations  
  • Provide deal finance advisory and initiatives including financial due diligence, structuring and other transaction finance services in the assigned private asset classes – private equity, debts, credits and real assets investments  
  • Advise financial and operational feasibility of holding structure, deal funding mechanics, portfolio accounting / valuations implications and manage various work streams with internal stakeholders and external advisors during investments / divestments 
  • Implement efficient operating model including onboarding/ offboarding investment portfolio across various jurisdictions in the region 
  • Manage structure, cash and liquidity, and work with internal treasury specialists to execute and monitor various treasury, credit, and hedging initiatives 
  • Collaborative and effective partnering with stakeholders such as internal Investment Team, Internal Investment Finance Specialists and Investment Operation members, Tax, Legal & Compliance, external advisors, and service providers 
  • Partner with operations team to fulfil all operational requirements, including liaising with banks on funding requirements. 
  • Review periodic valuation and performance analytics for all direct, JV and indirect assets including liaising with external valuers, JV partners, underlying GPs, and internal valuation specialists 
  • Manage reporting for Holding platforms and investment SPVs across Europe including board reporting, financial reporting, audit oversight 
  • Support Regional Head to implement various transformation programs and global projects 
  • Identify gaps in current workflow and take a proactive approach (technology enabled solution where makes sense) to drive operational front-mid-back process improvements and efficiencies, and reduce operational risks 

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • At least 6 years relevant deal finance advisory and transaction management experience. Ideally in Private Equity/Debt, Credit or Infrastructure supporting direct transactions. 
  • Good understanding and awareness of private investments’ deal closing mechanics, investment structuring, documentations and controls. 
  • Degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent. Ideally a qualified accountant with Big 4 training. 
  • Detailed oriented analytical thinker, with creative problem-solving capabilities to effectively manage complex situations in a timely manner 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deals at any given time and deliver to deadlines. 
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and drive partnership with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • An inquisitive self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, cross-regions multicultural environment
