The department has four key areas of focus including employee communications, corporate communications, branding and marketing, and social impact.
Employee Communications
The Employee Communications team creates content to keep our employees updated with what is taking place across the enterprise and connects them to the vision, purpose and strategic direction of GIC. They also manage the internal communications channel mix to deliver content to employees across all global offices.

You will play a key role in positioning GIC as the leading global long-term investor.
What will you do as an AVP, Employee Communications?
This is a 12 month contract role with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is interested in a longer-term opportunity with our organisation.
You will report to the Vice President of Employee Communications and manage our company intranet and content hub for employees. Specifically:
- Manage and optimise GIC’s all-employee intranet channel to maximize content readership and engagement
- Manage the intranet’s homepage and the news and stories section – driving enhancements and ideas to improve the user experience and user interface, and contribute towards improving useability of the intranet through recommendations and working with our technology team to troubleshoot potential issues
- Design and layout articles and content on our intranet, a SharePoint based site
- Support with the management of the editorial calendar for the intranet and other internal communications channels
- Manage our dedicated internal communications mailbox and liaise with stakeholders on their content to bring it to best-in-class internal communication standards while building the reputation and influence of the Employee Communications team and establishing strong partnership with collaborators
- Write, review and edit content originating from across the business in line with intranet house style, GIC’s style guide and digital content standards
- Manage the end-to-end process of content management including the development of strategic content plans in line with business direction, liaise with internal stakeholders on inputs for articles and ensure timely publishing on the intranet
- Conceptualise and write content and stories that bring to life GIC’s work, our mission and the impact we make through our investments and in the community
- Support the broader internal communications content plan and frameworks with content and ideas to tell the GIC story including explaining our culture, values, strategic priorities and our change journey within the organisation
- Contribute proactively to global CAC discussions and workgroups playing an integral role as part of the global Employee Communications team
- Manage external agencies on selected content creation and timely delivery of key communications activities
What makes you a successful candidate?
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in communications disciplines with dedicated internal/employee communications experience
- Financial services background ideal but not necessary
- Proficient in managing internal communications channels, including intranets that are SharePoint-based, with a proven track record of creating engaging content
- Experience working with Content Management Systems
- Has an understanding of UI/UX
- Ability to leverage digital tools and think laterally and creatively to solve internal communication challenges with technology
- Strong proven writing abilities, with expertise in structuring news and content for internal audiences
- Exceptional critical thinking and research skills to gather and analyze information for internal news content
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Keen attention to detail, capable of critically reviewing editorial content and providing sound recommendations specifically for internal audiences
- Ability to navigate stakeholder relationships and exercise sound judgment
- Strong initiative, excellent follow-through and a proactive attitude
- Demonstrate accountability and ownership over projects
