Finance Department 

Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We ensure financial stewardship and reporting for the GIC group, and act as Finance Business Partners to optimise corporate financial planning and the use of operating budgets for growth and sustainability. We harness data and technology to create insights for financial decision-making and achieve excellence in financial operations.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Financial Accounting team with the Finance Department. As a member of the Financial Accounting team, your responsibility includes driving transformation initiatives within finance operations, leveraging on data and technology to perform analysis and presenting meaningful insights through dashboards for management reporting.  

 

What will you do as a AVP in the Financial Accounting team?

  • Transformation and Change Management: Lead initiatives focused on transforming finance operations and managing change effectively.
  • Financial Analytics: Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing actionable insights to stakeholders. Design and implement analytics tools to detect outliers in finance operations, ensuring timely intervention and resolution.
  • Dashboard Creation: Design, implement, and maintain interactive finance dashboards that provide real-time insights into finance operations and key metrics.
  • Finance Operations Management: Oversee daily finance operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury cash operations and general ledger management.
  • Reporting: Prepare financial reports and presentations for stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in reporting.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant working experience, with some experience in finance operations and finance transformation.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent tools).
  • Proven experience in leading transformation initiatives and managing change effectively, demonstrating the ability to engage stakeholders.
  • Strong initiative, resourceful and able to work collaboratively with different stakeholders, and can work independently to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
