Infrastructure Team
This role will be in our Tampines Office. You will help to build and sustain strong technology foundations forming the bedrock of GIC’s digital solutions. 

 

What will you do as an AVP, IBM App Connect and Application Suite Administrator? 

The IBM App Connect and Application Suite Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IBM App Connect environment, the IBM application suite (including ITX), and Java programming. This role requires a strong knowledge of industrial middleware solutions in addition to IBM solutions. The position involves ensuring the seamless operation, security, and performance of these systems, as well as supporting the development and deployment of new services.

 

IBM App Connect Administration and Development:

  • Install, configure, patch, and manage IBM App Connect environments.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of IBM App Connect applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IBM App Connect.
  • Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop IBM App Connect applications with dependent Java logic.
  • Manage and maintain middleware components to ensure seamless integration between applications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support the deployment activities.

 

IBM Application Suite Management:

  • Administer and maintain IBM application suite components, including IBM Transformation Extender (ITX).
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of IBM application suite components.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IBM application suite components.
  • Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage and maintain middleware components to ensure seamless integration between applications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support the deployment activities.

 

Java Programming and Development:

  • Develop, test, and deploy Java applications as part of the IBM application suite.
  • Manage and maintain middleware components to ensure seamless integration between applications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate Java applications with IBM App Connect and other middleware components.
  • Optimize Java application performance and ensure code quality
     

Operating Systems Management:

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) for IBM App Connect, application suite components, and other middleware solutions (e.g., Kafka, Solace).
  • Hands-on experience with preferred Linux operating systems and familiarity with other operating systems.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems.
  • Apply security patches and updates to ensure compliance with industry standards.
     

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure all systems are secure by implementing authentication, authorization, and encryption protocols.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
     

Integration and Support:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate middleware components with various applications and services.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for middleware-related issues.
  • Document configurations, usage guidelines, and best practices.

 

Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor performance metrics and implement optimizations to improve response times and reliability.
  • Conduct regular performance testing and capacity planning.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IBM App Connect administration, IBM application suite management (including ITX), and Java programming.
  • Proven knowledge and preferable experience with messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, IBM Message Queue, AWS SNS), including middleware technologies and protocols.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM App Connect ESQL, IBM Transformation Extender (ITX), and Java.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud enablers (e.g., Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)).
  • Experience with operating systems such as Redhat, and familiarity with Windows and IBM AIX is a plus.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Shell script).
