External Managers Department
The External Managers Department seeks to identify and develop relationships with the best breed of global investment managers to benefit GIC at large. We invest across a variety of asset classes and strategies focusing on rigorous due diligence process to generate good risk adjusted return or excess returns across market cycles.
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the External Managers Department’s Equities team in Singapore as a Portfolio Manager. The Equities team is in charge of equity hedge strategies and benchmark relative portfolios across various geographies globally. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for external managers due diligence, selection and monitoring. The candidate can also look forward to stimulating work in a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment and being given greater exposure and responsibilities over time.
Responsibilities
- Sourcing, underwriting, due diligence and monitoring of hedge funds and long-only managers, particularly in Asia/ Emerging Markets
- Strategy-level analysis, including periodic research, and surfacing potential investment opportunities for the team and GIC at large
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses on individual fund managers and a portfolio of managers
Requirements
- At least 4 to 7 years of fund allocator and/or capital market experience
- Excellent analytical ability and strong communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Be highly motivated and adept at multi-tasking.
- Independent thinker who is able to articulate his/her views well, both in verbal and written form.
