AVP, Private Markets Operations

The Investment Services Private Market and Finance Department is responsible for investment services for the private market and financial management across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing operations and reporting support to the private market business of GIC as well as budgeting, accounting, payment processing, cash management, tax and financial & management reporting services to all departments, corporate management companies and the global offices of the GIC group. It is involved in deal structuring and closing, transaction processing, administration and accounting of investment holding companies, review of financial controls for asset operations, cash & securities reconciliation, valuation and financial reporting for assets under management, and external debt financing.  

 

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Finance & Accounting team as an AVP, Private Market Operations.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Service Provider selection: Scope service requirements for the Finance & Accounting team and perform market analysis on the capabilities of service providers. Work closely with internal teams on the RFP and due diligence process. Follow through on agreements with Legal team;
  • On-boarding: Lead discussions to on-board new service provider or change in service scope. Co-ordinate between internal and external stakeholders, formulating the outsourcing plans (agree on timelines and deliverables and tracking the progress);
  • On-going monitoring and issue management: Collect feedback from internal stakeholders (including positive ones and issues arising). Manage escalations / queries from the Finance & Accounting team and/or other internal stakeholders. Continuous engagement between internal stakeholders and service providers to optimize the service relationship.  Manage regular service reviews, including KPIs, SLAs, etc. and chair service meetings. Regularly follow up action items agreed from the service review meeting until closure (e.g. changes in service scope, change projects, issues, etc.) Monitor and follow through with periodic RFPs, changes of service scope or renewal of agreements;
  • Outsourcing framework: Work closely with senior management to design the outsourcing framework for the department and run the implementation accordingly. Ensure compliance with Enterprise Vendor Risk Management Policy;
  • Fee reviews: Perform analysis on fees and assist with fee reviews; and
  • Internal reporting: Compile presentation decks for management and internal reporting.

 

 Requirements

 

  • Minimum a bachelor’s degree in accountancy, finance, business or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the investment management middle or back office (preferably in the private markets industry). 
  • Committed and motivated individuals who are meticulous and enjoys working in a fast-paced dynamic environment. 
  • Service reviews, on-boarding of new service providers and project management is preferred.
  • Strong inclination towards internal controls and compliances.
  • Ability to develop and manage close working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Committed team player, meticulous with details and accurate with numbers.
  • Possess an analytical mind, and strong negotiating ability to create win-win situations.
  • Self-driven and ability to adapt well in a fast-paced work environment.
