Investment Services Private Markets (ISPVM)

The Investment Services Private Markets Department (ISPVM) is responsible for investment services for the private market across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing deal structuring and closing, portfolio monitoring, valuation, finance, operations, tax, data management and analytics services, in the execution of private market investments across Private Equity, Private Credits, Real Estate and Infrastructure. It is also involved in financial reporting and accounting of investment holding companies, as well as operations and financial due diligence for asset operations.

 

Strategy Office

The Strategy team assists the Director of ISPVM in steering, advancing, and overseeing the execution of ISPVM’s strategic plans. This involves recognising growth opportunities, evaluating, and mitigating risks, for market leadership. The team will focus on Strategic Partnerships, Management Office, and Sustainability Solutions.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

We are seeking a Program Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in developing the strategy and execution of our Investment Services Private Markets (ISPVM) service platforms, focusing on deal, asset servicing, and controllership. This role requires a forward-thinking individual with a strong ability to articulate and advocate different ways of doing things and a passion for innovation.

 

What will you do as a Program Manager?

  • Strategic Roadmap: Assist in the development of the overall strategy for ISPVM service platforms, including identifying data requirements, digital products, service capabilities and business functionalities.
  • Program/Project Management: Oversee the execution of our ISPVM service platforms. This includes managing project timelines, coordinating with various teams, and ensuring that project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Process re-engineering: Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This will involve redesigning existing processes with functional teams and implementing new ones to create operating leverage. 
  • Engagement with technology startups and firms to co-create industry solutions. This will involve building and maintaining relationships, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and facilitating the co-creation process coordinating with the data solutions and analytics team and digital office.
  • Focus on Private Markets: Leverage strategic partnership relationships built by the strategic partnership team, and work closely with both limited partners and general partners to develop industry infrastructures for private markets. This will involve understanding the needs and challenges of our key partners and proposing solutions that meet these needs.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Proven experience in project management, preferably in a technology or financial services environment
  • Strong self-starter that is able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and articulate new ideas
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills in managing senior stakeholders
  • Business knowledge of private markets and the challenges and opportunities in this space will be advantageous
  • Experience in process re-engineering and change management in complex environments
  • Ability to engage with technology startups and firms and facilitate the co-creation process
  • Ability to code and work with data to build prototypes and dashboards will be a plus but not a must
  • Strong industry network in Financial Services, Buy Side, and Technology Partners will be a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, or a related field
