Technology Group

Infrastructure Team
This role will be in our Tampines Office. You will help to build and sustain strong technology foundations forming the bedrock of GIC’s digital solutions.
What will you do as an AVP, SWIFT and Middleware Engineer?
The SWIFT and Middleware Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the SWIFT infrastructure and middleware components, including Oracle WebLogic and IBM Message Queue (MQ). Experience with IBM MQIPT, AppConnect, and IBM ITX tools is highly desirable. This role involves ensuring the seamless operation, security, and performance of these systems, as well as supporting the development and deployment of new services.
IBM Message Queue (MQ) Administration:
- Install, configure, and manage IBM MQ instances.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of MQ queues and channels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MQ messaging.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Experience in supporting MQ configuration on operating systems such as IBM AIX and Linux.
- Manage and maintain middleware components to ensure seamless integration between applications.
- Monitor messaging systems' performance and implement optimizations as needed.
- Collaborate with development teams to support the deployment of new messaging services.
- Experience with backup and restoration of IBM Message Queue is required.
SWIFT Infrastructure Management:
- Administer and maintain the SWIFT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Monitor SWIFT message flows and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Implement and manage security protocols to protect SWIFT transactions.
- Experience with SWIFT MT and ISO20022 message formats.
- Experience in supporting SWIFT infrastructure on operating systems such as IBM AIX and RedHat.
- Familiarity with SWIFT infrastructure setup is highly desirable.
Oracle WebLogic Administration:
- Install, configure, and manage Oracle WebLogic Server instances.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of WebLogic applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the WebLogic server and applications.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure all systems are secure by implementing authentication, authorization, and encryption protocols.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Integration and Support:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SWIFT, Oracle WebLogic, IBM Message Queue, and other middleware components with various applications and services.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues related to SWIFT, Oracle WebLogic, IBM Message Queue, and other middleware.
- Document configurations, usage guidelines, and best practices.
Performance Optimization:
- Monitor performance metrics and implement optimizations to enhance response times and reliability.
- Conduct regular performance testing and capacity planning.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud enablers (e.g., Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)).
- Experience with operating systems, preferably Linux and IBM AIX, with additional knowledge of Windows being beneficial.
- Familiarity with using IBM GPFS FileSystems with IBM Message Queue (MQ) is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Kafka messaging platform tool.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Shell script).
