We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new, and emerging technologies. 

 

Business Partner & Solutions
You will help to explore new, and existing technology to support our strategic, and operational business needs across our Public Markets, Private Markets, Total Portfolio Risk, Corporate Services, and Enterprise Solutions.

What will you do as a Software Engineer (Equity Products)?
You will be part of the core team that iteratively develops and supports GIC’s Equity Order Management System, as well as in-house built solutions that serve GIC’s investment management process, a mission critical business area. Your scope include:

  • Working closely with product owners, business analysts and project managers to design, solution and build features using modern technologies with agile software development methodologies.
  • Advocating software development best practices and maintain high standards in code quality, to achieve sustainable performance and scalability.
  • Rendering production support via a rotation roster and ensure stability, continuity, and availability of the systems managed in your team.

 
What makes you a successful candidate?

  • At least (i) 5 years for AVP, or (ii) 8 years for VP, of relevant experience in software development.
  • Financial market knowledge at least one of these domains: Equity, Futures and Options, FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives and OTC products.
  • Hands on experience in supporting front, middle and/or back-office systems, experiences in areas such portfolio management, order execution, compliance or post trade would be a plus. 
  • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Agile Scrum, Kanban, or any DevOps frameworks.  
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code review, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Technical skills and competency in 2 or more of the following
    • React.js and other JavaScript framework/libraries 
    • C# (.Net Core)
    • Database technologies such as Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL
    • Cloud technologies such as AWS cloud and containerization
    • Middleware technologies such as Kafka
