Investment Services Public Markets


Investment Services Public Markets (ISPM) is an integrated team that provides investment service support for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC’s global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.


With GIC formally adopting a Sustainability Policy, being a responsible steward of our investee companies is one of the key tenets. We are looking for an Assistant Vice President to join our Sustainability Services team to support investment teams across Public Markets. The successful candidate will work on cross-department projects related to ESG process integration.





Project Management

  • Understand GIC’s Sustainability policy and principles, identify and implement ways to enable investment teams to adopt, align and achieve them efficiently and effectively, through enhancing workflows and tools
  • Collaborate with cross-department stakeholders, balancing top-down objectives and bottom-up implementation feasibility
  • Navigate evolving client and internal reporting needs, enhance processes and tools to enable effective, accurate and timely reporting
  • Collaborate with data and technology teams to build tools for reporting, research and analytics
  • Manage internal/external stakeholders, organize critical path, objectives, set and drive deadlines


Investment Stewardship Support

  • Provide data and analytical support to portfolio managers when they conduct company engagement; analyze shareholder meeting resolutions, assist portfolio managers on ESG work
  • Develop engagement and proxy voting analytics to support portfolio managers’ documentation


Sustainability Research

  • Develop market expertise in ESG, corporate governance, investment, and shareholder issues gathered through fundamental research and engagement with portfolio managers. This can involve review and summarization of thematic research on controversies and industry trends
  • Distill financial, ESG and corporate governance info of companies to support portfolio managers’ research on material risks and opportunities, with focus on climate change



  • Assist in developing business plans, framework and procedures related to the assigned projects
  • Initiate and manage ad-hoc projects (e.g., technology adoption). Lead adaptation or improvement of processes and workflows, including identifying new business requirements and capabilities




  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, law, economics, business, accounting, engineering
  • 5-8 years of prior experience in project management related to ESG or corporate governance
  • Excellent team player. Respectful and work well with all levels and across different cultures
  • Self-starter, committed, dependable, positive and driven. Enjoy working in a dynamic environment. Deliver high standards of work under extended time pressure. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Effectively manage high volume of projects with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills. Critical report writing skills are essential
  • Strong analytical ability, including financial and quantitative literacy and attention to detail
  • Critical thinking skills. Ability to navigate unstructured situations
  • Experience and knowledge preferred on financial analysis, ESG, corporate governance, proxy voting issues, regulatory frameworks on ESG and corporate governance in different markets
