Global Investment Services

GIS provides strategic investment services and financial management across GIC’s public and private market asset classes. Leveraging data and emerging technologies, the department drives the development and execution of business infrastructure plans while shaping scalable, agile, and resilient operating models that enable growth and deliver operational excellence.

GIS provides operational expertise spanning market settlements, transaction management and execution, investment data operations, portfolio finance, valuations, accounting, and tax services, as well as portfolio administration.

 

Investment Enterprise Data Solutions
You will play a key role in shaping and delivering enterprise data capabilities that support investment decision-making across public and private markets. This includes designing and leading strategic data solutions, managing the investment book of record, and developing robust reference data frameworks. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across investment, risk, technology, and other enterprise functions to implement scalable data services and solutions that enable new investment strategies and products. Through strategic partnerships and best practices in data management, you will help build a unified, resilient, and future-ready data ecosystem for the firm.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

You will play a critical role in executing GIC’s top‑of‑the‑house strategies, investment framework changes, policy updates, and total portfolio rebalancing, translating strategic intent into well‑governed, executable outcomes across the enterprise.

 

The role ensures alignment with business objectives, operational readiness, and enterprise initiatives through implementation of key platforms that support the Total Portfolio ecosystem.

 

What will you do as an AVP, Total Portfolio Implementation?

 

Business Partnership & Delivery

  • Partner closely with Total Portfolio investment groups to execute top‑of‑the‑house changes, balancing investment priorities with enterprise governance and operational feasibility.
  • Collaborate across investment and corporate services teams to manage inter‑dependencies, assess downstream impacts, and drive coordinated enterprise execution.
  • Review and design solutions to ensure they meet business intent, operational robustness, and governance requirements, particularly within index and reference data domains.
  • Identify and recommend operating model enhancements and process improvements to reduce operational risk and strengthen governance and controls.

 

Change, Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Play an active role in enterprise data and platform initiatives impacting the Total Portfolio, representing business priorities and execution risks.
  • Lead end‑to‑end business readiness activities, including planning, execution and issue resolution for user acceptance testing (UAT) covering system and data changes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external data providers and vendors.
  • Support documentation of functional requirements and specifications to ensure clarity and effective delivery.
  • Identify and recommend operating model and process improvements that reduce operational risk and strengthen governance and controls.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?  

 

Experience & Domain Knowledge

  • Degree holder with at least 5 years of working experience, including a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in total portfolio, data management, data analysis, analytics, or visualisation within the investment or banking industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills to work as the central point of coordination and informed decision-making across multiple functions while balancing the priorities of various teams, and managing the constructive tension between investment department business priorities and central governance and enterprise requirements.
  • Strong design solution and data / analytics capabilities.
  • Good grasp of process design, operational problem solving, governance workflows, with an eye for streamlining and efficiency.
  • Strong learning agility with the ability to “connect the dots”.
  • Preferred: Financial markets and financial product domain experience to engage meaningfully with investment professionals.

 

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with total portfolio data.
  • Experience with Excel formulas and macro, data extraction and visualisation tools such as SQL and Tableau and enterprise databases (e.g. MS SQL, Snowflake, PostgreSQL) and data integration tools (e.g. Informatica) is preferred.
  • Experience applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) or advanced analytics to enhance data quality, analytics, or operational efficiency is preferred.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to balance business priorities and enterprise governance expectations.
  • Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to deliver high standards under time pressure with minimal supervision.
