Investment Services Private Markets

We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing. We provide financial operations to GIC’s private equity, infrastructure, and real estate assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

 

Finance & Accounting

You will help to provide financial deal due diligence, financial controllership, treasury and funding, valuation management, investment operations, accounting, financial reporting, and special purpose vehicle management for GIC’s investments.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that provides investment services on private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and cross-strategy investments.

 

What will you do as a Valuation Controller?

  • Primary focus on the oversight of valuations of private market funds and co-investments across Private Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Private Debts strategies
  • Identify key risks and assist in establishing valuation risk monitoring frameworks for fund managers’ valuation process
  • Review fund managers’ valuation procedures to ensure alignment with the firm-wide valuation policy
  • Review and challenge methodologies, inputs and assumptions used in the valuations provided by fund managers
  • Work closely with the fund managers to ensure that all valuation methodologies, inputs and assumptions used are appropriate
  • Assist valuation team’s BAU tasks such as deliverable tracking, model development, valuation model reviews, process and control improvement, presentation to stakeholder, and completion of ad-hoc deliverables
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on all valuation related matters for funds and co-investments, including financial control, risk and external auditors
  • Drive the onboarding process of technology to transform data into insight for the stakeholders
  • Management and delivery of various items of project work

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, econometrics, statistics or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in private market valuations/risk management at a valuation consulting firm, a public accounting firm, a private market fund, an investment bank or a third party valuation service provider
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills in understanding the driving factors for valuation
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communications, analytical and IT skills
  • Keen to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced work environment
  • Being an independent and self-directed person, able to manage tasks effectively and complete tasks within agreed timelines
