Fixed Income & Multi Asset
Our team employs a broad range of investment strategies that span macro, credit, and quantitative investing, including multi-asset, benchmark-agnostic, constrained, indexed, and thematic strategies.
What impact can you make in this role?
Fixed Income & Multi Asset (FIMA) Chief Operating Officer’s Office (COOO) plays a vital role in supporting and servicing FIMA’s investment activities globally. The role of Business Strategist works directly with the FIMA COO to coordinate and implement long-term strategic planning and change management for the broader Department. The role also has primary responsibility for routine tasks that go to the Department (rather than Product) level.
What will you do as an AVP/VP, Business Strategist?
- Work directly with FIMA COO to partner with FIMA’s senior management and stakeholders on Department-wide strategic priorities and initiatives.
- Partner closely with FIMA’s Business Managers to drive and implement business and change initiatives across the Department’s key product verticals.
- Lead and manage FIMA’s key annual business planning activities, including the Department’s annual Strategic Business Plan and budget process, as well as oversee other major finance/tax planning exercises.
- Be the primary lead for the Department’s Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and act as a central point of contact for all Internal Audit enquiries.
- Collaborate within and across departments to manage FIMA’s external relationships with counterparties and software vendors
- Proactively partner with GIC’s Corporate Services teams (including operations, risk, legal & compliance, and human resources) to simplify processes, streamline workflows, and to implement necessary change and enhance overall efficiencies.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline with at least 5-8 years of relevant work experience in financial services.
- Experience in project management, operations and/or finance is preferred.
- Knowledge of and interest in global markets, particularly fixed income.
- Strong team player with good interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive, coordinate and manage projects among multiple stakeholders.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, and is resilient.
