Corporate Affairs and Communications
The Corporate Affairs and Communications (CAC) department is responsible for managing corporate affairs, branding and reputation, and all internal and external communications. It includes GIC’s interface with key stakeholders, including the general public, media, and employees.
What will you do as an AVP/VP, Corporate Communications?
We are seeking an experienced editor and storyteller to join GIC’s Corporate Affairs & Communications team as AVP/VP, Corporate Communications. You will drive GIC’s thought leadership agenda, positioning the firm as a leading global voice on long-term investing, sustainability, technology, and macroeconomic trends.
Partnering closely with the sustainability, economics, and investment teams, you will translate complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives that reflect GIC’s perspective and purpose. This role is ideal for someone with a strong editorial background, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in advancing the conversation on how capital can shape a more resilient and sustainable future.
Editorial
• Lead content strategy for GIC’s thought leadership platform, ThinkSpace, including curating, and producing high-quality thought leadership content (articles, research papers, speeches, multimedia pieces etc.)
• Stay abreast of macroeconomic, policy, and industry developments to refresh GIC’s narrative on key themes such as long-term investing, sustainability, technology, and macroeconomic trends.
• Strengthen measurement and analytics to assess the reach and influence of GIC’s thought leadership.
Media relations & content partnerships
• Develop and execute integrated communications plans to amplify GIC thought leadership on owned and earned channels.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business, financial, and trade media as well as industry bodies, think tanks, and content partners to identify proactive storytelling opportunities.
Speaking engagements & event thought leadership
• Oversee programming and content development for GIC’s flagship thought leadership event.
• Support senior leaders in preparing for external speaking opportunities and maintain GIC’s speaking engagement guidelines and resources.
Investment communications
• Manage communications around deal announcements and issues, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with GIC’s reputation objectives.
• Provide counsel to investment teams on disclosure, reputation risk, and issue management, working closely with senior stakeholders and the Legal, Compliance, and Business Continuity teams.
Strategic stakeholder partnerships
• Serve as a trusted communications partner to the sustainability, economics, and investment teams, providing strategic advice on external engagements.
• Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing with peers, investee companies, partners, and industry bodies to advance GIC’s thought leadership agenda.
What makes you a successful candidate?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in financial or business journalism, macroeconomic or investment research, editorial or leadership communications within a global financial institution or a multinational corporation.
- Strong domain expertise in financial markets, macroeconomic and investment trends, geopolitics, sustainability and technology.
- Proven ability to translate complex, technical concepts into clear and compelling narratives for diverse audiences, including business leaders, investors, policymakers, and the Singapore public
- Demonstrated experience managing editorial calendars and producing high-quality content across multiple formats (articles, speeches, reports, multimedia).
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills, including experience in developing content for international conferences and C-suite engagements.
