Data Strategy Group
We build our data architecture in a robust operational environment with scale and efficiency. Data is meaningful in a functional, discoverable, and accessible format to power GIC’s innovative investment strategies.

 

Data Management 
You will actively manage GIC’s data through technology-enabled activities such as data sourcing, maintenance, and remediation. Our stewardship ensures data remains trustworthy, and of high quality.

What will you do as a Data Business Analyst?

  • Conduct requirement sessions with business users, analyze and design solutions holistically across the DSG’s offerings
  • Work closely with various stakeholders such as business end-users, data vendors and data engineers to implement and support data solutions using best-of-breed technology and methodology while adhering to our data governance standards and data architecture principles
  • Design testing strategies and execute end-to-end user acceptance testing of system and data changes in data solutions
  • Manage end to end data management operational activities of data products, including monitoring data delivery, resolving operational incidents and providing advisory to users
  • Establish a robust and scalable data operation process that encapsulate the entire data lifecycle from data registration to decommission
  • Design and implement quality metrics and monitor quality of market data to ensure integrity and quality of data meets user expectations
  • Set up, improve, and streamline data operations processes through analysing systems operations data (SLAs, customer satisfaction, delivery quality, team efficiency etc.) and incorporating best practices for continuous improvements and operational excellence
  • Manage and maintain strong relationship with data providers (internal and external) and vendor to ensure continuous support and knowledge for existing and future data needs
  • Coach and guide junior team members

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?  

  • Possess a degree from recognized tertiary institution with at least 5 years of relevant experience in data management, finance or asset management industry, where at least 3 years are with hands-on experience in data management or data analytics or business analysis
  • Experienced with the Systems Development Life Cycle implementation methodology (SDLC) and/or agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban
  • Competent in managing data warehouse, designing data models, and use of data management tools such as Oracle, Snowflake, Informatica, Denodo and data visualisation tools such as Tableau
  • Knowledge of using formulas/macros in Excel or coding in Python is advantageous
  • Good understanding of the principles, key controls and processes relating to data management
  • Detail oriented, with strong analytical skills and enjoy complex problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders to design and develop solutions
  • Self-driven, pro-active and great sense of purpose to review existing data usage with a keen eye and implement innovative solutions for greater efficiency and quality of data processing
