Finance Department
Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We ensure financial stewardship and reporting for the GIC group, and act as Finance Business Partners to optimize corporate financial planning and the use of operating budgets for growth and sustainability. We harness data and technology to create insights for financial decision-making and achieve excellence in financial operations.
What impact can you make in this role?
As a Finance Business Partner (FBP) to GIC’s technology departments, you will be a trusted advisor who bridges finance and technology — helping our technology teams optimise their resources with strong governance and turning data into decisions. You will own financial planning, performance management and advisory for your stakeholders, and bring sharp data analytics to build the dashboards and insights that guide investment and spending choices. Just as importantly, you will help modernise how we work, harnessing automation and AI to elevate the speed, quality and impact of our FP&A and reporting. Through this, you will directly shape how the GIC Group allocates and optimises its technology investments.
What will you do as a Finance Business Partner?
- Act as the primary finance partner to assigned technology departments — the go-to person for their financial reporting, analysis and advisory needs, and a bridge between them and the wider Finance function.
- Help technology teams optimise their resources with strong governance — challenging spend, tracking value delivered, and ensuring decisions are disciplined, well-controlled and aligned to GIC’s priorities.
- Lead the annual planning and budgeting cycle for your departments, and deliver timely, accurate forecasts that surface financial opportunities and risks early.
- Build insightful dashboards and reports using strong data analytics — connecting the dots across the technology landscape to give leaders clear, data-driven views that support their decisions.
- Drive automation and AI into our FP&A and reporting — identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and raise the speed and quality of our insights.
- Support benchmarking, business cases and improvement initiatives that strengthen financial excellence across the technology departments.
- Apply sound FP&A, financial modelling, business controls and compliance knowledge to guide stakeholders and mentor junior team members.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Degree in Finance and Accounting.
- 6 - 10 years of progressive finance experience, with recent years directly supporting technology functions in financial institutions and/or large multinationals / conglomerates as the Finance Business Partner.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, as the role involves partnering and working closely with stakeholders across levels within and outside of the technology departments.
- Strong working knowledge in FP&A, controllership, business controls, processes and compliance with the relevant statutory rules and regulations.
- High level of agility - able to act quickly and adapt directions, plans, and decisions to changing business demands.
- Driven self-starter - strong initiative, resourceful and able to work collaboratively with different stakeholders independently to deliver outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights. Proficiency in data visualization and analytical tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent tools) is an added advantage.
- Experience in applying automation, and advanced analytics within the finance function is an added advantage.
