What impact can you make in this role?
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the index platform, ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of index calculations and publications. This role will also involve solutioning for the index platform, driving improvements, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance operational processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial markets, index management, and operational excellence.
What will you do as an AVP/VP, Index Operations?
Index Operations:
- Manage Daily Operations: Run the daily operations of the index platform, ensuring timely and accurate calculation and publication of index values.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of index data.
- Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data used for index calculations, including prices, market capitalization, and other relevant metrics.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any operational issues or discrepancies related to index calculations and publications.
Solutioning and Innovation:
- Platform Enhancement: Identify opportunities for improving the index platform, including automation, scalability, and efficiency enhancements.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with IT and technology teams to implement new tools and technologies that enhance index operations.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements to streamline index operations and reduce operational risk.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to index platform enhancements, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
Stakeholder Management:
- Client Support: Provide support to stakeholders regarding index-related inquiries and issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including product development, rebalancing, to ensure alignment and support for index operations.
Governance:
- Governance: Establish and maintain governance frameworks for index operations, including policies, procedures, and controls.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Degree in Finance, Business, or related fields with minimum 8-10 years of relevant working experience in index and data management
- Possess good knowledge of financial instruments and markets. An additional qualification like CFA will be considered favourably.
- Experience with data providers such as MSCI, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Markit and others would be preferred
- Passion for data and process-oriented analysis with strong analytic and business diagnostic skills
- Meticulous and detail oriented, with rigor for thoroughness and controls
- Strong learning agility with the ability to “connect the dots”.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong learning agility
- Team player with the willingness to take on ownership and new challenges in a fast-paced and changing environment.
