About GIC
GIC is one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds. With over 2,000 employees across 11 locations around the world, we invest in more than 40 countries globally across asset classes and businesses. Working at GIC gives you exposure to an extraordinary network of the world's industry leaders. As a leading global long-term investor, we work at the Point of Impact for Singapore's financial future, and the communities we invest in worldwide.

Technology Group
We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new and emerging technologies.

Strategy, Architecture, and Transformation Group
The Strategy, Architecture & Transformation (SAT) group shapes and drives GIC’s technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and enterprise goals. Bringing together expertise in strategy, architecture, engineering, and transformation, the team strengthens governance, promotes consistency, and accelerates delivery across the Technology Group. Through modern practices and close collaboration, SAT leads the development of an architectural strategy that reinforces oversight and accountability while enabling reliable, scalable solutions and informed decision making across the Technology Group and, more broadly, across GIC.

Developer Experience
The Developer Experience team builds and operates the products and platforms that support the developer experience across GIC's Technology Group. The team is organised around three product pillars:

  • Project Management Tooling — Platforms such as Jira and Confluence that support project tracking, collaboration, and workflow management across the Technology Group.
  • Cloud Development Environments & IDEs — Cloud-based development environments, AI-assisted coding tools, developer toolchains (CLIs, SDKs, IDE extensions, devcontainer features), and agentic development capabilities.
  • DevSecOps & CI/CD — CI/CD pipelines, artifact management, security scanning integration, infrastructure-as-code, and secure software delivery tooling.

What impact can you make in this role?
As a Product Engineer responsible for Developer Acceleration, you will build and operate the infrastructure that enables hundreds of employees to be productive through our agentic cloud development platform. By joining this team, you will have a direct impact on the velocity and quality of software engineering at GIC. You will evolve our agentic cloud development platform, shape the next generation of the agentic SDLC, and transform how software is built and delivered across GIC.

You are a platform engineer who is also an AI-native developer: you use coding agents as core engineering tools across specification, design, implementation, testing, and review, while applying sound engineering judgement and remaining accountable for the quality, security, and operability of the software you ship.

What will you do as a Product Engineer (Developer Acceleration)?

  • You will work across three connected areas: platform and infrastructure engineering, developer tooling and governance, and AI-native development and agent enablement.
  • Operate and evolve the agentic cloud development platform, covering infrastructure, networking, deployment automation, devcontainer lifecycle, observability, security, and governance.
  • Address developer needs, resolve platform issues, and build processes and integrations that connect the platform with enterprise development services and systems.
  • Govern the developer tools estate — evaluate, onboard, secure, and manage the lifecycle of IDEs, extensions, SDKs, CLIs, and AI coding tools through clear guardrails and paved paths.
  • Drive AI-native development across GIC — establish reusable practices, context engineering, MCP integrations, and reference workflows, and provide clear guidance and enablement to accelerate adoption across teams.
  • Build and integrate the agentic SDLC platform — develop agent execution and human review workflows that connect project management tools, source control, and CI/CD to enable end-to-end delivery.
  • Collaborate with infra and security teams to ensure platform capabilities meet requirements for observability, resilience, and compliance.

What makes you a successful candidate?

  • Experience
    • 6+ years of experience in software, platform, or infrastructure engineering, including hands-on ownership of developer platforms or large-scale distributed systems in production.
    • 2+ years of experience leading complex, cross-team engineering initiatives as an engineer or technical lead.
    • Strong programming proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, C#/.NET, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
    • Strong AWS expertise, including EC2, VPC networking, IAM, EKS or ECS, CloudWatch, and S3.
    • Strong experience with infrastructure as code and automation using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps practices.
    • Deep familiarity with containerised development, including devcontainers, image build pipelines, and dependency management.
    • Security-first engineering experience covering network segmentation, least-privilege access, and operation in regulated technology environments.
    • Demonstrated AI-native development practice — hands-on use of coding agents across the software development lifecycle, with the ability to recognise their limitations and validate AI-generated code before release.
    • Clear technical communication — able to write guidance, run enablement sessions, and explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Product & Delivery Mindset
    • Demonstrated ability to think about engineering work through a product lens — understanding users, measuring outcomes, and iterating based on feedback.
    • Comfortable owning a product backlog and making prioritisation decisions.
    • Experience working in agile teams with a focus on incremental delivery.
  • Governance & Ways of Working
    • Ability to balance developer experience and autonomy with enterprise requirements for security, standardisation, and cost control.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across engineering, platform, and cybersecurity teams.
    • Comfortable navigating competing priorities and driving alignment.
  • Personal Attributes
    • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
    • Pragmatic, structured, and outcome-focused.
    • Consistently demonstrates GIC's PRIME values: Prudence, Respect, Integrity, Merit, and Excellence.
