Risk and Performance Management Department


The Risk and Performance Management Department is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of GIC’s market, credit and operational risk profiles.


We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and technically competent individual who has an interest in risk management, systems and methodologies. You will be a member of the Risk Infrastructure team to provide risk management and measurement support to the organisation.




  • Work with end-users (e.g., risk managers, risk analysts) and the technology group to implement new performance and risk measurement systems or enhancements to existing systems
  • Work with data and technology groups to improve corporate-wide data models and implement data storage and publishing solutions for risk and performance analytics
  • Manage the end-to-end workflow of the performance and risk systems, from batch preparation work and data checks to reconciliations and publishing of results
  • Design and manage system and data validation tools and reports to ensure good data quality and efficient operations
  • Assess and manage the impact of upstream data changes or new business initiatives (such as new product requests) on existing systems and processes
  • Provide guidance to the junior system analysts in the running of risk and performance systems, operations and ensure the analytics produced are timely and accurate
  • Engage and manage external risk vendor in their delivery of new models and system functionalities, data coverage and the quality of their production support



  • A good Degree in Banking & Finance, Engineering or related fields of study
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the finance industry
  • Good understanding of financial products (including derivatives), trade operations, trade and market data and performance or risk analytics
  • Good working knowledge of database and data models
  • Experience in working with performance, risk or valuation systems, in the form of project implementation, operation or reporting
  • Strong technical skills such as Microsoft Office suite, data visualisation and analytics tools, SQL or other programming languages
  • Additional qualifications such as CFA, CIPM and FRM will be considered favourably
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with different stakeholders and external vendors
  • Able to work independently under pressure
  • Good team player who possesses drive and initiative to be able to work with minimal supervision
