We are hiring an AVP/VP, Senior Data Analyst, Data Policy and Goverance, this role will be part of the Data Policy & Governance team and a key member to shape and operationalize the long-term vision, strategy and objectives for data governance across the organization that are in line with the GIC`s business strategy and objectives, particularly in data quality.

Responsibilities

 

  • Actively contribute in terms of best practices, thought leadership and ideas to the team. Be a key player in terms of executing enterprise-wide data governance tasks.
  • Raise awareness on data governance best practices, such as designing and implementing effective data quality controls or accurately documenting data meanings and usage contexts or cultivating a data ownership mind set, by working collaboratively with data owners and stewards across the organization.
  • Institute in place an enterprise-wide discipline to track, monitor and resolve data issues that affect data accuracy or operational efficiency. Work actively with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense.
  • Work with data stakeholders to define and implement data quality standards and guidelines.
  • Publish and maintain data quality artefacts (guidelines, standards, dashboards, etc.) online to raise user awareness and facilitate self-service.
  • Operationalize and implement automated end-to-end data quality management solution.
  • Conduct data quality and trend analysis to ensure continuous improvements and provide updates to the management.
  • Monitor data quality issues and track remediation activities to ensure timely and effective closure.
  • Perform data profiling, investigation and root cause analysis on data quality issues.
  • Provide recommendation on corrective actions and develop remediation strategies to improve adoption of data quality standards and best practices.
  • Manage documentation relating to the data quality architecture and reporting process (e.g. SOP).
  • Execute education and communication strategy to raise the awareness of data quality obligations across the organization.

 

Requirements

 

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience, with 2 years pf hands-on experience in data governance/quality/management or data analytics in the banking and investment industry.
  • Detailed oriented and strong analytical skills, knowledge of operational processes, risks and controls, especially from a data lifecycle perspective.
  • Strong interpersonal and people leadership skills, ability to engage well with diverse stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the principles and key controls of various data management disciplines, e.g. master/reference data management, data quality management.
  • Flexibility in embracing change, communicating the need for change and applying forward thinking in initiating data and related process improvements and transformations.
  • Strong project management skills. Ability to be meticulous meeting stringent deadlines.
  • Working experience with data quality tools (e.g. Information Data Quality) and BI tool (e.g. Tableau).
  • Good understanding of databases, data structures and basic data modelling concepts.
  • Enjoys working in a cross functional team, is an excellent team player and is innovative in problem solving.
  • Experience in programming language in Java, Python.

                - Data Quality Product (Informatica Data Quality Tool or equivalent)

                - Metadata Management Product (Informatica, Alation, Collibra)

                - Major Cloud-based Data Platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, RDS)

                - Data Virtualization Technology (Denodo)

                - Business Intelligence (Tableau, PowerBI)

                - O365 Suite
