Private Equity

GIC is a global investment firm and has one of the largest and broadest private equity programmes amongst all institutions. GIC PE invests across the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific in a range of sectors including Healthcare, Consumer, Financial services, Technology, Industrials, Sustainable Energy and Infrastructure. Besides investing through private equity fund managers, GIC PE also invests across the capital structure in equity, senior and junior debt, in secondary PE deals, restructuring & opportunistic credit and special situations. We currently have over 100 active relationships with fund managers and have invested directly in more than 1000 companies globally across multiple sectors.

Chief Operating Officer’s Office - Private Equity (PE)

The PE Chief Operating Officer Office (PE COOO) is a newly established team within the PE department and is dedicated to translating business needs into operational requirements for a scaling organization. The PE COO leads core functions in Data, Tech Enablement & Analytics, Risk & Performance Reporting, Process and Control, Business Planning Support, and Investment Operations.

 

Analyst/Associate – Data Analyst (2-years contract)  

We are seeking a detail-oriented data analyst to join the team on a 2-years contract. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in building GIC PE’s large database containing different functional data (e.g. ESG metrics, business contacts etc.) that support the business.

 

The role will involve coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to bring in business critical data into internal PE systems for further analysis and usage. It will also involve designing processes to help automate data extraction, validation and enrichment. The candidate will be able to gain a greater understanding of the private equity business through access to a large database of proprietary data.

 

What will you do as a Data Analyst?

  • Data Extraction & Management – design processes and manage data operations processes to help accurately bring in or input and maintain data across various platforms, ensuring completeness and consistency
  • Data Enrichment – enhance existing datasets by researching and integrating additional information found from various sources
  • Quality Assurance - conduct regular data audits to verify data accuracy and resolve discrepancies, ensuring data is reliable and up-to-date. Investigate and resolve data exceptions and data quality issues.
  • Collaboration – work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and support ongoing projects
  • Reporting - where required, assist in generating reports to highlight the state of data collection and completeness  

  

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Business, or a related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience working with data, database management, data solutioning and management and process re-engineering
  • Prior experience, or a keen interest in private equity and knowledge in data governance and management
  • Meticulous and high attention to detail while also being able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet stipulated timelines.
  • Possess good communications skills, with the ability to understand business needs and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, a plus to have proficiency in VBA, SQL, Python and data visualization tools
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large volume of data
