Private Equity (PE)
GIC has one of the largest and most diverse private equity portfolios globally, with an extensive network of over 100 active relationships with global fund managers, and direct investments in more than 1,000 companies worldwide. Our investments span across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, covering a diverse range of sectors, including Technology, Healthcare, Financial services, Business Services, Consumer, Industrials, and Sustainable Energy. GIC PE also invests across the capital structure, including equity, senior and junior debt, as well as in secondary PE deals, restructuring, opportunistic credit, and special situations.
Direct Investments Group (Developed & Southeast Asia)
The Direct Investment strategy in GIC Private Equity focuses on sourcing and investing directly in companies in minority private equity, growth capital, buyouts, and structured capital transactions, typically taking minority positions across a range of equity and equity-like products. The team focuses on investments across Southeast Asia (primarily in Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand) and Developed Asia (Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand).
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Direct Investments team in Singapore. This will be 3-year fixed-term programmatic hire (with full employment terms & benefits).
What Would You Be Doing as an Analyst/Associate?
•Join the Direct Investments Group based in Singapore, reporting directly to the Head of the Direct Investments Group (Developed and Southeast Asia)
•Gain valuable exposure to companies across various sectors, including consumer, healthcare, financial services, and technology in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia)
•Actively engage in portfolio management, which includes attending board meetings, interacting with management and other shareholders regularly, contributing to ongoing strategic initiatives, and developing and executing exit plans
•Support the efficient evaluation and execution of investments in minority private equity, growth capital, buyouts, and structured capital transactions
•Utilize your deal execution experience to assist in negotiations, structuring, valuation work, due diligence, and legal matters
•Manage and assist with 2 to 3 live projects simultaneously, including potential cross-staff deals with other teams within GIC PE
•Participate in special projects within the firm as assigned from time to time
What Would Make You a Successful Candidate?
•Strong academic background with 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a top-tier investment bank, private equity fund, or leading consulting firm
•Solid deal execution experience (M&A and/or ECM transactions) to support financial modeling, valuation analysis, and preparation of investment materials
•Good commercial judgment, coupled with experience in financial modeling and analysis, sector research, and execution and closing skills in direct investments
•Ability to effectively manage relationships with management teams, diligence advisors, bankers, and navigate internal processes and stakeholders
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities and the capacity to multitask. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with a keen attention to detail
•Experience in preparing investment papers is a plus
•Willingness to travel regularly for meetings
