Analyst/Associate, Private Equity, Funds & Co-Investments - India focus

Private Equity (PE)
GIC has one of the largest and most diverse private equity portfolios globally, with an extensive network of over 100 active relationships with global fund managers, and direct investments in more than 1,000 companies worldwide. Our investments span across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, covering a diverse range of sectors, including Technology, Healthcare, Financial services, Business Services, Consumer, Industrials, and Sustainable Energy. GIC PE also invests across the capital structure, including equity, senior and junior debt, as well as in secondary PE deals, restructuring, opportunistic credit, and special situations.
Funds & Co-Investments Group Asia (FCG Asia)
FCG Asia is responsible for GIC’s relationships with key Asia Private Equity managers. The Group commits primarily to buyout and growth funds and co-invests actively and meaningfully alongside its fund managers.
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Asia Funds & Co-investments team in Singapore as an Analyst/Associate. As a member of the FCG team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of fund investments (e.g. regional, country focused, growth, buyout) and co-investments (across different countries and industries). You may also get a chance to work with our Direct Investment team in certain co-bid situations, hence gaining a well-rounded investment experience.
This will be 3-year fixed-term programmatic hire (with full employment terms & benefits).
What would you be doing as an Analyst/Associate?
•Deal Underwriting: Work predominately as part of a small deal team to diligence and execute Private Equity fund commitments as well as co-investments. In certain cases, member may work with the Direct Investment team on co-bid situations
•Portfolio Monitoring: Assist with portfolio monitoring and maintain relationships with existing fund managers and co-investments. Represent team in i) fund managers’ investor conferences; ii) meetings with senior leadership of our PE fund managers; and iii) interactions with management teams of our portfolio companies
•Market Coverage: Primarily focus on India, but will have broad-based exposure to multiple sectors, regions (i.e. Australia, Japan, Korea, SE. Asia and China) and deal archetypes, within Asia Private Equity space
•Special Projects: Collaborate with other various GIC teams on projects that relate to investment portfolio, strategy, and risk
What would make you a successful candidate?
•Strong academic background with 1-2 years of work experience in a top-tier investment bank, consultant firm or PE fund
•Excellent financial analysis and modelling skills, able to conduct comprehensive research and synthesize results
•Besides being a good team-player, candidates should also demonstrate maturity, integrity and possess the necessary people-skills to interact with senior professionals
•Strong written and communication skills; good organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task across various assignments
•This role will primarily focus on India fund and co-investment coverage, so prior experience in India would be beneficial
