Corporate Infrastructure Services Department

The Corporate Infrastructure Services Department (CISD) at GIC focuses on maintaining a best-in-class workplace environment that enables employees to perform at their highest potential. Within CISD, the Corporate Business Continuity Management & Workplace Security Team ensures GIC’s operational resilience and business continuity during disruptions, while safeguarding the physical safety and security of GIC’s employees, facilities, and assets across all global offices.

The Workplace Security team member plays a key role in enhancing GIC’s capability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from physical security incidents. This role combines technical, analytical, and operational skills to support and promote a culture of readiness and resilience across the organisation.

What will you do in the Corporate BCM and Workplace Security team?

Security operations & process improvement

  • Perform core security operations tasks (e.g. access card issuance and lifecycle management, access reviews), familiarity with incident response and escalation,  and serve as a reliable day-to-day point of contact for these processes.
  • Map, document and review existing security operations processes; identify bottlenecks, manual steps and control gaps.
  • Propose and help implement improvements — such as  automation, better workflows and tighter controls — to make operations more efficient and reliable.
  • Maintain the accuracy and upkeep of all security records, including access registers, issues log and standard operating procedures
  • Support related security activities for building and data center power down events, VVIP meetings, audits and monthly reporting.

Security technology projects

  • Support the design, installation and commissioning of security systems for office fit-outs and renovations (e.g. CCTV, access control, intrusion and alarm systems).
  • Assist in enhancing the security technology stack — including the adoption of video analytics and other new features — across both hardware and software components.
  • Coordinate with vendors, integrators and contractors; help track project scope, timelines, testing and handover.
  • Support routine maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of security systems to ensure availability and performance.

Collaboration & support

  • Work closely with the wider security team, corporate services, IT and external partners.
  • Share ideas on emerging security technologies and how they can be applied at GIC.
  • Contribute to business continuity and workplace-resilience activities (e.g. drills, documentation) as needed.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • At least 2–5 years of experience in physical/workplace security operations, security systems, facilities, or a related field; exposure to BCM or operational resilience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree (or diploma) in a relevant discipline such as security management, information systems, engineering, risk management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with security systems (e.g. access control, CCTV, intrusion/alarm) and an interest in security technology, including video analytics and automation.
  • Experience in a financial institution, asset management firm, or sovereign wealth fund is advantageous but not required.
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and accurate record-keeping; comfortable documenting and improving processes.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders, and to stay composed and responsive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to or interest in security incident response and risk awareness; relevant entry-level certifications (e.g. ASIS certifications or vendor security-system certifications) are a plus but not essential.
