Business Data Operations

The Business Data Operations team is responsible for all data operations to support our public markets investment capabilities. We are a team of data domain subject matter experts, providing highly quality and timely data used across the Organisation. The team is also responsible for operationalization of data services for all investment strategies & new product lines, leveraging a range of expertise and through the establishment of strategic partnerships across the firm and in the market, to embed and enforce best practices in data operating models. We are also the Standard Settlement Instructions Centre of Excellence (SSI CoE), providing SSI services with a focus on timely settlement and fraud prevention.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support public markets investment.
 
 

You will play a crucial role in the Standard Settlement Instructions Centre of Excellence (SSI CoE) for GIC. Your primary responsibilities include overseeing SSI services as a key payment control function, managing static data setup, and providing SSI subject matter advisory services. 

 

You will join the Business Data Operations team as an Associate on a 2 years' contract.

 

What will you do as an Associate, Business Data Operations (Contract)?

  • Stewardship of all SSI services as a key payment control function
  • Maintaining a centralized document repository, conducting document & callback verification processes, coordinating updates with relevant teams, and ensuring secure and efficient handling of information
  • Managing and coordinating GIC SSI document issuance as per standard operating procedures and workflows
  • Managing and updating SSI data and taking the lead in updating SSI data, ensuring both accuracy and timeliness to support our investments
  • Managing and updating static data setup and taking charge of ensuring that our data is not only accurate but also delivered in a timely manner, playing a crucial role in our operations
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and working closely with them to swiftly address and resolve any data-related challenges
  • Actively manage and update documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient workflows, consistent practices, and effective knowledge retention
  • Conduct thorough User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for any system changes related to SSI management to ensure functionality meets business requirements
  • Contributing to process improvement by assisting team members in reviewing and enhancing existing processes and workflows for greater efficiency

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?  

  • Good degree or equivalent in Business, Finance or Accountancy
  • Preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience in fund management or banking industry or data management industry.
  • Strong control mindset and meticulous approach
  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately enter and verify information, maintaining high standards of data integrity
  • Experience with trade operations or payment market utilities, e.g. DTCC Alert and SWIFT preferable
  • Self-starter with strong learning agility and aptitude
  • Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
