Investment Services Private Market and Finance Department

 

The Investment Services Private Market and Finance (ISPVMF) Department provides investment services for the private market and financial management across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing operations and reporting support to the private market business of GIC as well as budgeting, accounting, payment processing, cash management, tax and financial & management reporting services to all departments, corporate management companies and the global offices of the GIC group. It is involved in deal structuring and closing, transaction processing, administration and accounting of investment holding companies, review of financial controls for asset operations, cash & securities reconciliation, valuation and financial reporting for assets under management, and external debt financing.

 

Investment Services Management - Private Equity, Infrastructure & Integrated Strategies Group (PEII)

 

The Investment Services Management (PEII) team sits within the ISPVMF department. The team plays a vital role to provide investment and portfolio management support to PEII deal teams globally across 9 overseas offices. This includes propagating industry best practices, improving efficiency by process design, providing timely and accurate performance reporting, coordinating initiatives with multiple departments and overseeing the process of ingesting and presenting data to ensure GIC PEII continues to retain its competitive edge.

Associate/AVP, Data and Document Management, Analytics & Operations

 

Dedicated Singapore based Associate/AVP to provide data and document management operations and reporting.

 

Operating Data and Document Management (50% of role)

  1. Establish a data engineering presence by setting standards for processing, storing and optimizing information sets relating to our private equity portfolio. 
  2. Actively design and improve process flows to achieve greater efficiency and analytical capabilities.
  3. Manage data operations, validations work across various streams, engage internal systems and work closely with external vendors.
  4. Curate detailed process documentation and conduct operational risks reviews.
  5. Enhance internal document library capabilities for improved information access.

 

Special Projects (30% of the role)

  1. Work with Technology Group on systems - formulating test cases, user acceptance testing and supporting system roll-outs.
  2. Liaise with various stakeholders (Finance, Technology, Risk) to support wider GIC corporate initiatives, systems projects.
  3. Maintain data robustness through scrutiny and analysis of data ingestion and design in server.

 

Internal Reporting (10% of the role)

  1. Collaborate with Technology Group to maintain front-end dashboards and produce intricate insights on output data.
  2. Collate, comprehend and answer requirements of key stakeholders relating to data management and operations.

 

Data Governance (10% of the role)

  1. Co-lead any enterprise-wide data governance activities and execute on behalf of PEII.
  2. Develop and ensure adherence to data definitions, standards and practices.

 

Requirements

 

  • 2-3 years working experience as a Data analyst or mid-office role in an Investment Bank/Buy-side Investment Firm. A finance background is good-to-have.
  • Possess strong learning agility with ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding analytical skills; able to resolve business problems with well-structured analyses.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and keen to adopt new technology trends and tools.
  • Preferred platform experience include Excel, Powerpoint, Python, and Tableau.
