Global Investment Services (GIS)

The Global Investment Services (GIS) Department provides strategic investment services and financial management for the Public and Private Markets within the GIC group. Leveraging data and emerging technologies, the department oversees the development and implementation of business infrastructural plans and operating models to scale GIC’s investments globally. We manage deal structuring, due diligence and closing, asset and portfolio monitoring, financial operations across GIC’s assets, as well as tax structuring, corporate holding structures, valuations, and financial reporting.

Portfolio Investment Finance

We provide comprehensive finance management and advisory, and treasury solutions across asset classes, ensuring sound financial management and disciplined execution. PIF capabilities encompass financial due diligence, oversight of asset-level financial operations, cash flow monitoring, and financial risk management. Complemented by financial analytics, PIF drives strong financial governance, effective financial management of investment entities, and delivers insights that protect and enhance investment performance. The treasury function within PIF manages and optimizes cash, mitigates financial risks, and provides tailored treasury solutions to enhance liquidity and optimize yields.

What impact can you make in this role?

You will join a dynamic team dedicated to providing investment services across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and cross-strategy investment portfolios.

We are seeking a suitable candidate to join the Investment Finance team as an Associate. This role covers primarily finance management and oversight of the investment structure and asset portfolio, and finance advisory to investee companies to strengthen financial controls and optimize financial outcomes across Asia private market investments. The incumbent is expected to work closely with various internal and external stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle. The individual is also expected to support the Team Lead in various finance transformation initiatives.

What will you do as an Investment Finance Associate?

• Manage financial due diligence, including the assessment of findings and purchase price adjustments for investments, divestments, and restructurings
• Assess and strengthen the financial operations, controls and governance of investee companies
• Provide financial and operational advice on investment holding structures, funding, cash repatriation, accounting and valuations matters
• Oversee the set up and maintenance of investment holding structures, including capital structure maintenance, cash management and regulatory filing
• Coordinate with operations team to fulfill investment operational requirements, including liaising with banks on funding requirements
• Monitor key financial controls for asset operations - including cash controls and review of investee financials - and liaising with external auditors
• Identify surplus cash of investments and drive repatriation solutions in partnership with Investment Teams, Treasury, and investee companies
• Review market valuation for private investments and provide insights into valuation movements and investment returns

Others

• Work closely with the Team Lead to design and implement various finance improvement initiatives and analytics as part of Finance Transformation

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Strong academic background in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
• Certified Public Accountant preferred
• At least 3-5 years of relevant working experience, with a preference for experience in Investment Finance related activities
• Strong understanding of investment structures, financial governance, accounting, valuation concepts and financial controls
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage investment professionals, investee companies, service providers, and advisors
• Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving investment environment
• Strong project management and execution capabilities, with the discipline to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes independently
• A collaborative team player who embodies integrity, accountability, and a commitment to excellence
