External Managers Department

 

The External Managers Department seeks to identify and develop relationships with the best breed of global investment managers capturing investment opportunities to enhance GIC's portfolio in all asset classes.

 

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our team as Associate, Investment Services Analyst. The candidate will be part of the team which supports the Portfolio Managers in their portfolio management needs and the business needs of the department.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide reporting and analytics support to assist portfolio managers in their due diligence and on-going monitoring. This would include the building of exposures, risk and performance dashboards among others, working with Portfolio Managers on analytics requirements.
  • Support the fund onboarding, withdrawal and on-going monitoring process. This would include administrative setup, funding process, transition management, supporting legal, governance, regulatory and compliance requirement, and coordination with external parties and other internal corporate services teams.
  • Evaluate and understand business data needs with the objective to integrate different data sources using technology to drive improvements in efficiency to existing workflows and processes
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external parties to implement solutions to create business value and efficiency for the department
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects or requests including corporate initiatives.

 

Requirements

  • Strong academic background from reputable institutions, ideally in accounting or finance and with  3 to 5 years of prior investment banking, private equity, or asset management industry experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel is a must. Experience in programming skills such SQL and VBA and visualisation tools such as Tableau are highly preferred.
  • Strong interest working with data and applying analytical thinking, have a good sense of numbers and attention to details.
  • Enjoys working in a team and good interpersonal skills. Confident to engage different stakeholders to drive the desired outcomes.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, good time management skills and performs well under pressure.
  • Possesses strong intellectual curiosity, eager to learn and constantly seeking improvement opportunities and new challenges.
