Real Estate
The Real Estate (RE) arm of GIC invests in real estate and real estate-related assets outside of Singapore and has one of the largest and broadest real estate portfolios amongst all institutions.
Our real estate assets cover over 40 countries and span multiple property sectors, including traditional office, retail, residential, industrial, and hospitality; and newer economy sectors such as data centres, life sciences, and healthcare properties. We invest across the real estate capital structure in equity, senior and junior debt. Through active asset management, GIC further generates income, and enhances the market value of its assets through tenant management, market positioning, leasing, and capital improvements.
Investment Insights Group (IIG)
We use advanced quantitative techniques and cutting-edge technological tools to generate insights that drive outstanding investment outcomes for GIC. As a Quantitative Strategist in Real Estate, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing quantitative models and strategies to support our investment decisions. You will work closely with our investment teams to analyze large datasets, apply advanced statistical techniques, and leverage AI to uncover actionable insights. Your work will directly influence our investment strategies and help us stay ahead in a competitive market.
What will you do in this role?
• Partner with real estate investment teams to understand their data needs and provide quantitative support.
• Develop and implement quantitative models to analyze real estate market trends, property valuations, and investment opportunities.
• Utilize advanced statistical techniques, machine learning, and AI to extract insights from large and complex datasets.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate findings and support decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility.
• Stay updated on the latest developments in quantitative finance, real estate markets, and AI technologies.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
• An academic degree in fields such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics and Finance fields with experience in a data-driven professional setting
• Experience working with quantitative models, conducting model validation, and performing statistical analysis.
• Comfortable working with, and combining, disparate and diverse data sources
• A strong intuition for analytical methodologies and desire to solve novel technical challenges
• Proficiency in the following coding languages – Python, SQL
• Positive work attitude, high energy candidates with drive and initiative
• Eagerness to learn the RE investment process and willingness to learn other skillsets required for this role, as and when they are required
• Ability to work effectively with different stakeholders and demonstrate maturity and integrity to interact confidently with senior colleagues
