Investment Execution & Trade Operations – Securities Operations

You will work with the investment teams and the technology group to ensure timely and accurate trade management and execution. You will manage a global portfolio covering various Securities instruments across Equities, Fixed Income, and Discretionary Mandates.

 

The successful candidate shall work primarily in the Securities Operations team with a focus on the support of Discretionary Mandates.

 

 

What will you do as an Associate, Securities Operations?

 

  • Support Trading Activities for Securities Asset Classes: Ensure timely and accurate external instructions and bookings, ensuring sufficient funding and compliance with internal and custodian bank cut-off times.
  • Service Management: Monitor and enhance service delivery from Custodians, Brokers, and External Fund Managers, focusing on confirmations, settlements, transaction processing, NAV reporting and compliance monitoring.
  • Operational Efficiency and Risk Reduction: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and accuracy, implement strategies to minimize operational risks, and maintain robust operational controls.
  • System Enhancements and AI Integration: Participate in system upgrades, automation initiatives, and user acceptance testing, leveraging AI for automation and data analysis, combined with a strong understanding of business needs, to enhance operational processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate with Asset Departments, Traders, and Corporate Services teams to facilitate smooth operations and effective communication.
  • New Product, Market Implementation, and Deals Management: Evaluate and implement new products and markets for investment by portfolio managers, manage deals effectively, and work with external vendors to keep track of market developments.

 

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher and at least 3 years working experience in Operations, preferably handling mandates.
  • Inquisitive and curious, detail-oriented, strong analytical ability, multitasking, excellent communication skills and possess a drive for excellence.
  • Constantly keep up to date with industry developments, resourceful. Able to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • A good team player who collaborates well with internal and external counterparts, self-motivated and enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
  • Some experience interacting with investment professionals and business managers is an added advantage, but not a pre-requisite.
  • Ability to identity issues and propose solutions to ensure smooth closure.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL skills are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of leveraging AI toolkits is advantageous.
