We build our data architecture in a robust operational environment with scale and efficiency. Data is meaningful in a functional, discoverable, and accessible format to power GIC’s innovative investment strategies.
Data Quality & Governance
You will help to design and implement data governance policies and products to enable sustainable, and scalable data usage across the organisation.

What will you do as an Associate/AVP Data Governance?
- Conduct discovery requirement sessions with business users, analyse and design solutions holistically across the DSG’s offerings
- Work closely with various stakeholders such as business end-users, data vendors and data engineers to implement and support data solutions using best-of-breed technology and methodology while adhering to our data governance standards and data architecture principles
- Design testing strategies and execute end-to-end user acceptance testing of system and data changes in data solutions
- Manage end-to-end data operations for the enterprise metadata management, including monitoring data delivery, resolving operational incidents, and providing user advisory, while ensuring all processes and operations comply with established Data Governance standards and requirements.
- Establish a robust and scalable data discovery operation process that encapsulates the entire data lifecycle from data registration to decommission
- Develop and implement data quality controls and metrics to monitor and ensure data integrity and quality align with user expectations.
- Enhance Enterprise Data Governance products, including BAU operations by incorporating best practices for continuous improvement and implementing automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Stakeholder management with business data owners, data stewards and the central data management team to ensure continuous support and knowledge for existing and future data needs.
- Coach and guide junior team members
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Possess a degree from recognized tertiary institution with at least 5 years of relevant experience in data management, finance or asset management industry, where at least 3 years are with hands-on experience in data management or data analytics or business analysis
- Experience with the Systems Development Life Cycle implementation methodology (SDLC) and/or agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban is advantageous
- Competency in managing data warehouse, designing data models, and use of data management tools such as Oracle, Snowflake, Informatica, Denodo and data visualisation tools such as Tableau is advantageous
- Knowledge of using formulas/macros in Excel or coding in Python is advantageous
- Good understanding of the principles, key controls and processes relating to data governance and data management
- Detail oriented, with strong analytical skills and enjoy complex problem solving
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders to design and develop solutions
- Self-driven, pro-active and great sense of purpose to review existing data usage with a keen eye and implement innovative solutions for greater efficiency and quality of data processing
