Operational Due Diligence
You will conduct operational due diligence to safeguard GIC’s investment in funds globally. This role will focus on public market funds, with some exposure to private market funds. The ODD team headquarter is in Singapore, with a local team in New York.

You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support public markets investment.
What will you do as an Associate/AVP, Operational Due Diligence?
Functional Expertise
- Conduct and manage the operational due diligence for fund investments across liquid and illiquid strategies; working closely with investment due diligence teams in Singapore and New York.
- Use a data driven approach to establish market practices and benchmarks.
- Review and document qualitative and quantitative assessments of fund managers’ operations, controls, risks, ongoing news and developments. Responsibilities include project management, scoping, on-site visits, service provider reviews, documentation, and reporting. The role involves managing external ODD resources or consultants.
- Monitor market and regulatory trends and developments. Identify and analyse impact and provide prompt, relevant advice to the business. Resolve issues in a professional, tactful and timely manner.
Innovation
- Assist or lead reviews, adaptations or improvements of processes and workflows across the team, including identifying new business requirements and capabilities.
- Initiate and manage ad-hoc projects (e.g., technology adoption, framework reviews).
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
Functional Expertise
- Excellent academics, preferably with a CPA designation.
- 3 to 6 years of related experience in operational due diligence (audit, accounting and back-office operations will be considered) over a broad range of strategies and jurisdictions. Proficiency in business intelligence and technology adoption preferred.
- Good understanding of both public and private market investment operations life cycle, processes/policies/controls/risks/best practices, valuation, global regulatory and compliance rules, investment structures.

- Strong interest working with data and applying analytical thinking, have good sense of numbers and attention to details. Excellent communications and critical report writing skills are essential.
- Strong sense of professional scepticism and risk awareness. Excellent commercial acumen with experience in legal negotiations for fund investments.
- Self-starter, committed, dependable, positive and driven. Deliver high standards under extended time pressure with minimal supervision. Able to multitask and manage high volume of deals and projects.
- Provide constructive, pragmatic solutions, while demonstrating maturity and openness to feedback. Consider management angles in decision making.
- Be a strong advocate for and personally contribute to ISPM and GIC initiatives.
- Be a strong support for both local and global team members to accomplish overall team targets.
- Willingness to participate in periodic night calls between the Singapore headquarters team and New York local team; or with fund managers in different global locations.
